There is much controversy over the issue of the attitude of government toward immediate problems of today and anticipated problems of the future. Some people claim that government should focus on the immediate problems which are more urgent, while others advocate that anticipated problems also should not be ignored. On balance, I would argue that why do not we 这句写得有点别扭find a better approach to settle down both of them without overlooking the otherwithout overlooking either one.这里说要找到新出路,结果后文没有再提及
Immediate problems, namely the problems that agonize and afflict people mostly, actually need to be addressed by government as soon as possible. Without solving these problems, the normal living of publidpeople? will be in danger. Undoubtelyundoubtedly, modern society teems with this kind of problems, such as crimes, wars, drag abuse, unemployment and so on. If the policeman could not put murderers into prison, how can its residents have a good sleep without worrying about being murdered. If the army could not expel aggressors out of their land, how can its people live peacefully? If the government could not take some measures to prevent drag abuse, how can its people lead a healthy life? If the government could not solve the problem of unemployment, how can they ensure the stability of the society? The existence of these immediate problems extremely threaten people’s normal living. So the government must try their best to solve these problems as soon as possible.
Anticipated problems, namely the problems that will happen in the future, are easily ignored by the government deliberately or unintendedly for the following reasons. Firstly, solving thisthese problems requires time. In democratic societies where election for new government is held once every a few years, under pressure to produce immediate and tangible achievements, government often eschew the inconvienienceinconvenience of dealing with long-term problems, expecting their successors to take over the responsibility. Secondly, chronic problems are often harder to solve和chronic problems有什么关系?. These problems develop little by little, often going unnoticed for a very long time until they pass the threshold and start to exert their negative influence. Many new leaders who try to solve thisthese problems handed down from their predecessors give up at last for its difficulty. As a result, long –term problems are often overlooked and therefore aggravate the situation. Consequently, more attention should be called upon on long-term anticipated problems as seriously as they do to immediate problems.firstly分析得不错,chronic其实也可以理解,但是分析得不清楚
Therefore, the last question is how should the government allocate their attention, money and jobs to immediate problems and anticipated ones. As far as immediate problems are concerned, the government should take immediate action to tackle them with most of their effort at that time while when it comes to the anticipated problems, the best way to handle them is to prevent them from happening. It is the duty of the government to find a delicate balance of the two kinds of problems.和第一段呼应,但是没有新方法,只是分别应对
In summary, a responsible, fore sighting and competent government can not only get rid of the immediate problem they faced, but also take effective measures to combat or prevent the anticipated ones.
总体还不错,就事论事,要说缺点就是似乎找不到出彩的地方。 |
