"Most people would agree that buildings represent a valuable record of any society's past, but controversy arises when old buildings stand on ground that modern planners feel could be better used for modern purposes. In such situations, modern development should be given precedence over the preservation of historic buildings so that contemporary needs can be served."

In China, everyone wishes to go to Tianan men at least once in his life. Situated in Beijing, heart and capital of the nation, Tianan men does not only stands as a building, but also a storyteller of the past, a solider who protect our life and a political symbol of the independence of the nation. As one of the oldest cities in China, Beijing has myriads of buildings of various historical values. With the sheering modern development and urgent require to make full use of space, city planners face the dilemma of preserving buildings and developing modern society. From my point of view, we should try our best to preserve old buildings according to the will of the whole population, with the actually solution proposed by a case dependent manner.

Historical buildings, either considered as political symbols of a historical period, or unique treasure of tremendous aesthetic value, do represent valuable records of our past. Either visiting or using these old buildings would remind us their significant function in the history. To certain extent, they are not just buildings, but witness of historical events and vivacious museum of our past. For example, the Statue of Liberty, symbol of the United States, presents the whole nation's desire for freedom. The Great Wall in China previously serves as a defendant wall in Qin dynasty, is the only human architecture visible from space and selected as one of the seven miracles of the world this year. St. Paul’s Cathedral, a representative baroque building, play crucial role in evaluating architecture and of significant aesthetic value. Therefore, it is not exaggerate to say that such historical buildings, no matter whether exert quotidian functions or present prestige, are of enormous values for us tracing the past, deserving our protection.

For those buildings considered as certain characteristics or traditional virtuoso symbols of a nation, are still influencing our life nowadays and should definitely be preserved. Only with accumulative experience of our ancestors' hardworking and transfer of moral characters, can we development distinguished culture which provide today's moral norms. Preserve of such buildings would contribute to social harmony and push forward the improvement of society. Former residence of Confucius, although as humble as Confucius himself, always reminds the true value of our life. With open market policy, plenty of people lost their way purchasing profits and reputation, Confucianism, help us calm down from rushing and give decisions rationally.  Although preserving such places for city planners may be costly and useless in short term, yet the preserve of such spirits would benefit us even after generations.

Nevertheless, certain buildings with specific value to small groups of people could be sacrificed when facing conflict with our modernization to meets the needs of the public. It is the difference between people makes us gather together to exchange ideas and share experiences, and it is also such difference brings us various conflictions. (Time is up) When someone's need is satisfied, it is very likely the results of the tolerance of other humble persons. To achieve modernization efficiently, certain buildings meaningful only to a small number of people may be relocated or destroyed. For example, the place where Wang Xizhi, the greatest calligrapher in history, composed his most prominent artwork may be treated as Holy Land for lovers of calligraphers. Yet compared with more practical buildings, its meaning to the public is trivial. Thus, in such cases, old buildings should be given precedence to the modernization.

Taken together, it may safe for us to draw a conclusion that historical buildings do exert great impact on our evaluation of the past when tracing the history. Those buildings represents the spirits of the whole nation should be preserved by no means whereas those of particular interests to small number of people should give way to modernization.

From my point of view, we should try our best to preserve old buildings according to the will of the whole population, with the actually solution proposed by a case dependent a case-to-case manner.通过天安门的例子自然的引出要讨论的问题――的dilemma.
Historical buildings, either considered as political symbols of a historical period, or unique treasure of tremendous aesthetic value, do represent valuable records of our past. Either visiting or using these old buildings would remind usof their significant function in the history. To certain extent, they are not just buildings, but witnesses of historical events and vivacious museum of our past. For example, the Statue of Liberty, symbol of the United States, presents the whole nation's desire for freedom.自由女神像和历史的关系没有很好的表达出来,例如,serves as a freedom symbol which guided people in the fight for freedom in history. The Great Wall in Chinawhich previously serves as a defendant wall in Qin dynasty, is the only human architecture visible from space and selected as one of the seven miracles of the world this year. St. Paul’s Cathedral, a representative baroque building, play crucial role in evaluating architecture and isof significant aesthetic value. Therefore, it is not exaggerateexaggerative to say that such historical buildings, no matter whether exert quotidian functions or present prestige, are of enormous values for us tracing the past, deserving our protection.
列举的例子都很好,可是跟你这段的TS有点脱节。因为,这节的TS是do represent valuable records of our past. 例子没有体现这一点。主要是这些建筑在过去的作用。
For those buildings considered as certain characteristics or traditional virtuoso symbols of a nation, are still influencing our life nowadays and should definitely be preserved.这段应该是古建筑在现在的用途了—道德价值方面的? Only with accumulative experience of our ancestors' hardworking and transfer of moral characters, can we development distinguished culture which provideprovides today's moral norms. Preservepreservation of such buildings would contribute to social harmony and push forward the improvement of society. 这段的例子就很好的证明了古建筑在道德方面对现在的影响――与TS一致。
Nevertheless, certain buildings with specific value to small groups of people could be sacrificed when facing conflict with our modernization to meetsmeet the needs of the public. It is the difference between people thatmakes us gather together to exchange ideas and share experiences, and it is also such difference that brings us various conflictionsconflict. To achieve modernization efficiently, certain buildings meaningful only to a small number of people may be relocated or destroyed. For example, the place where Wang Xizhi, the greatest calligrapher in history, composedcompose除了组成的意思就是作曲了。没有完成的意思吧?应该用accomplish吧? his most prominent artwork may be treated as Holy Land for lovers of calligraphers. Yet compared with more practical buildings, its meaning to the public is trivial. Thus, in such cases, old buildings should be given precedence to the modernization. 这个例子也很好

你的issue已经炉火纯青了。看了4分保底了。例子很多也很丰富,唯一要做的是将例子好好发挥一下使之能很好的证明TS.
