Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each students.
It is a hot issue that whether the curriculum should be designed in the direction of the interests and individual needs for each student. Well, when considering this statement I think we should analysis it in both of the two diverse aspects: it is quite a brilliant practice when the education is connected with interest, but something out of interest still play an important part in the process of education.
It's is well-known that interest is the best teacher of study, with interest that we can learn things more efficiently and quickly. Interest is a aspect that can not be ignored when designing the educational curriculum.
But as we can all infer that it is impossible for the school to specially design educational curriculums for every student. To realize this assumption need a large quantity of teachers and also other things such as teaching conditions that match to the special curriculums, it is quite ridiculous both on the aspect of money and skill.
What's more, only with the student know about as many subjects as they can that they can choose the curriculum he or she is most interested in, nobody would know their favorite thing before knowing about it, so it calls for the school to set diverse curriculums for the students. And when they finally ascertain what his interest is and then he can choose to study the special education that suit for his interest.
On the other hand, it is not to say that all the curriculums should be the same all over the world or country even all over the different districts, if so, the education system will turn out to be a disaster. There are two aspects that I will explain to support this assertion.
First of all, different countries and different districts in a county have different culture and civilization. This character determines that they need specialized curriculum suit for them. For example, China as a country of 56 Peoples, different Peoples have different beliefs and different value attitudes, so the knowledge that is really useful and close to their daily life is different, we can not expect that all the Peoples to have the same curriculum, if so, there will be no identification for each People and also they will not learn the things that are useful to them.
Secondly, since different districts have different develop situation, a small town that only can afford to have the fundamental teaching method should not to raise its teaching level to catch up with the big city such as New York, since the student in the poor area are confined to the limit information and limit knowledge to suit for the teaching method in the big cities, when execute the same curriculums, it will make the student difficult to learn and find it just out of reality. So diverse education is needed.
And also on the aspect of cultivating an comprehensive person, we should not let the children just study the things they like and eliminate the things that is necessary in the daily life, a person without a right value attitude and fundamental moral ,he or she couldn't be a useful person that do useful things to the society. So traditional teaching is quite important.
In sum, education is a thing that connect to the destiny of a child, it is a thing that we can not palter with, when special design the curriculum to every student is impossible and not necessary, we should cultivate a child on the traditional way that teaching the general lessons which is the fundamental for the students and in the direction that suit for the interests and individual needs.
