An ancient Chinese philosopher once said (and I paraphrase), "It is the law --both just and unjust, which makes our world complete." To me, the judgment and relationship between "just" and "unjust" laws are far from easy than the author's claim.

Firstly, the evaluations about just and unjust laws are different among people according to innumerable factors. For one thing, this judgment is based on one's religious belief in a great degree. Take the issue of clone for example, people with a religious belief, no mater he/she is a Nazarene, Moslem, or Buddhist, may completely resist and disobey it, then the laws which regulates the clone is a legal action turns out to be absolutely offensive and unjust. Meanwhile, some other people without any religious beliefs may agree with those laws and consider them to be just for the reason that more women with genetic disease will have the precious opportunity to have a baby. For another thing, the evaluations about laws also depends on one's social belongs and individual living condition. A new regulation concerns with the increase of tax in private automobile certainly charge the rich for more money, then, people who have cars would consider their profits are offended, while people who don't would it is so just that they could afford fewer taxes according to their incomes. In a word, it is really difficult to give general standards which laws are just while which are not to the various people.

Secondly, the disobedience and resistance against the unjust laws may lead to larger and more serious problems. In other words, the process of resistance may be a far-reaching disaster not only to the society but also to the economy. The records about the great and long-lasting mess of society in Shang dynasty are still vivid in my mind, although I learnt them in my middle school. It was said tremendous common people were cruelly killed by the soldiers of the brutal king--Yin Zhou for the resistance of an unjust law -- a ban focused on the freedom of international marriage. After then, the economy of the whole nation declined unbelievably, and the recessions of economy led to the worse consequence ---more than 5 thousand people died of hunger.

Finally, granted the resistance and disobedience has taken effects, maybe more problems would take place. In the contemporary society, the democratic society, it is much easier for our common people to be informed of immense laws and make some judgment and conclusion, then make some actions. We are allowed to give out our opinions about the laws, sometimes a series of regulations may be completely abandoned for the severe resistance of mass. However, as a result, some new problems appear. For example, a regulation legislated by the local government according to the less requirement about the quality and medical components contents of waste water was resisted by the residents, then the government had to ban it for the great pressure from the local mass media and the violent reactions. It seems to be another perfect case to demonstrate how democratic our society is, however, this would undoubtedly render a larger number of workers who once worked in some waste water--related factories job-less.

In sum, laws cannot be differentiated by the simple standard: just and unjust, it is really unwise and half-baked. We are all sitting on a bus, we certainly have different opinions on the outside scenes according to our view points, so just relax and enjoy the world, and then you will find its harmony and beauty.
