As a great historian said history can mirror inherent advantage and disadvantage of humanity. To some degree, via studying history, we learn that human in specific periods of time are not so different as we have been considering, which inspire us how to know society and fit society.

In the first place, since human beings came into being, human society has developed markedly both in technique and in society. In paleolithic time, human beings can only use simple tools to hunt animals and collect fruit to eat. As the development of productivity, human beings learned to plant, bread animals, build homes etc, which improve human beings' quality of life considerably. Gradually, industry emerged, and urbanization promoted the communication and interaction among people. Nowadays, globalization accelerates the development of economy and the dissemination of science.


However, enlightened reflection about history reveals that human beings' nature keep consistent fundamentally in many respects. Human beings are still desire freedom, just as the slaves in ancient Rome and the ancient Jew enslaved by ancient Egyptian, especially in those autocratic countries, such as former Iraq ruled by Saddam. Besides, human beings' interest to mysteries keep consistent even more. Early in ancient Greece, even earlier, our ancestor started to research the origin of cosmos. Ancient philosophers provided a variety of answers, for examples, an philosopher said that the world is consisted of fire that has life. Nowadays, human beings are still exploit the question, we have know atom, neutron even much smaller particles. Similarly, human beings' need for romance, friendship, wisdom etc are all keep consistent. Unquestionably, that point is beneficial to human beings, because it inspire us that although specific people who may have dissension in political belief, value system, ideology etc, we have the same merits in humanity, so it is insular to discriminate others.

Unfortunately, not only the merits of humanity but the defects of human beings keep consistent at least fundamentally. In pristine society our savage ancestors are so selfish that they sometimes launched holocaust to a entire tribe to rob their treasure. The purpose of two world war in 20th century which killed millions of people is same with the wars in pristine society at least in part-rating treasure. And consider prejudice, that engendered numerous conflicts and wars in history, still jeopardizes entire human beings nowadays. Varies of prejudice including racial prejudice, religion prejudice is the fountainhead of continuous armed conflicts such as the conflicts in Middle East. We would not like it, but it is true that the evil nature in human nature has not changed fundamentally, so we must alter the greedy, the selfish, the evil and so forth.

To sum up, although human society has made significant progress, the inherent advantage and disadvantage in human nature keep consistent fundamentally. Any policymakers must realize that if only their policy in accordance human nature can it succeed,  and the key point lies in developing the merit of human beings and control its defects.
