TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

提纲：1: 提出自己的观点，即要general education又需individual education
      2：general education是必须的。如不知道历史可能犯更大错误，不知基本数学知识，在这个文明的社会无法交流
      3：过多的强调individual education有可能犯错和失去很多的机会，有的根本不知道自己的兴趣，或者由于阅历不够而无法做出选择。
      4：individual education必须的，社会很多的进步就是由于individual做出的
      5：总结general education与individual education之间call for balance

                   In today’s society, we can always hear that the individual needs and interests of each student should be met by the education in order to be truly effective. There is much debate on this issue. On balance, my view is that: we should give the student the general education first and then the characteristic education to the individual according to his need and interests.

               First, every student should accept the general education, such as history, mathematics, logic, art etc. Unless cleared away from the earth, people should learn the basic knowledge to live in the world. We learn it not only for the life purpose,    but also learn to know much more about the world via it and learn how to communicate with other people. If we don’t know the history of world, we can’t get any experience and lessons from the predecessor, badly, may make the same errors that are harmful to the society and human being, such as Nanking Massacre, biomedical experiments on concentration camp prisoners, fascist policy and so on; if we don’t know the basic mathematic, for example 1 plus 1, it is hard to communicate with others and live in this civilization society. More important, we can learn more knowledge and create more things in the future by the  basic knowledge.

                  Moreover, overemphasize on the individual, we may make many mistakes and lose much opportunities. We can't imagine that a child is educated from kindergarten on his needs and interests. For example, we can’t say no to a child that he  needn’t to study mathematic only because of his dislike the math. If so, the child can’t live properly in his society at least lose  competition, because he know little about the general knowledge that is necessary for him. Students are always not reasonable and experienced enough to choose the roads that agree with them. However, we can slowly find their needs and interests    from the general education. Consequently, the general education is indispensable for every people.

             Nevertheless, every individual, strongly speaking, is difference, therefore, specified education to cater different inquires for individuals is an effective way for learning. As we all know, the interest is the best teacher. Students tend to absorb and  assimilate the knowledge more rapidly, which sparks the interests of the students. More important, our society’s progresses   are always made by the individual, who has the extraordinary intelligence that their peers don’t have. We should educate them according to their interests in order to excavate the special potentiality. With the special education, we might have more Bill   Gates, Einstein or Da Vinci. So the individual is necessary and we should emphases more in the individual after the general     education.

             In sum, we should first educate our youth to master the basic knowledge via the general education, and then develop themselves according to their need and interest as much as possible. If we execute in this way, our society will be fraught with more creation and vigor and our society will be more hopeful than ever before.

楼主结构和思路都很不错，应该也没有逻辑上的错误(除非我没看出来)。不过可能是掐表写的原因，例子有点单薄，还有点头重脚轻。：）个人愚见，不恰当的地方请见谅。
