写的时候心里挺乱的。。唉
Technological advancement is exerting profound influences in shaping and modifying our social customs today. With the emergence of information technolgy in the last century and subsequent "stylish gimmicks" at hand - such as instant message via the internet and cell phone, concurrently with fancy dreams of human cloning in the field of biological research, technology has already profoundly transformed our society in various aspects. Needless to say, such sort of influences is pushing our society forward; but what require our more serious attention is that it also plays a critical role to determine our potential social customs and to a higher level, ethics.

    First, we should note that, once technological has been thoroughly disseminated and permeated in certain region, it will inevitably exert its impact on people's mind, especially the majority and the young, who form a group that is most likely to adapt change. On observing people's languages in their greeting and farewelling,( i.e the most commonplace social meeting)  study shows that the languages they use are prone to be more and more informal,(even might be irritating to others if applied to a same situation decades ago) and interestingly, accompanied by the telecommunication and internet development. In this case,what previously required great moral attention and restriction gradually vanishes; instead, people become more tolerant and open with a changed method of communication, which was made possible by telephone and internet, though we are not quite conscious of.It is affirmative, that our social customs is being quietly moved by the power of technological advances.

    Second, since customs becomes a target of new technologies,and customs could be deemed a mirror of ethics, ethics will also fall to technology's two-edged sword. True, we can state that technological advances makes equally advances in human morality and ethics. The most recent quater-century has seen an increasing sensitivitiy in our society toward ensuring public welfare by technological advances and industries. Consider, for instance, technology that enables computers to map Earch's geographical features from outer space. This technology allows us to locate lands that can be cultivated for feeding malnourished people in third-world countries. And, few would disagree that humanity is the beneficiary of the myriad of twentieth-century innovations in medicine and medical technology--from prostheses and organ transplants to vaccines and lasers. However, in retracing the history, the inventions of long-ranged cannons, the dynamite and threat of atomic bombs, the iron curtains, all pointed out negative consequences of technology development on our ethics. Isn't the unprecedented massive killing a degradation in human ethics? On recalling the painful World War 2, in which billions are slaughtered by the bombs invented by ingenious technicians and scientists, together with a chaos in human conscience, we cannot deny that the errant technology did determine such ominous consequence.  
   
In sum, technology not profoundly influence people's mind and the social customs, but also determine it.We human should watch out this momentous wave of technological advances with discretion: the two-edged weapon plays both positive and negative crucial role in our ethics as well.

我觉得正如你所说，这篇文章的思维的确有些混乱）
