题目:ISSUE123 - "It is possible to identify a person's politics within a very short time of meeting him or her. Everything about people-their clothes, their friends, the
way they talk, what they eat-reflects their political beliefs."

By stating that the political beliefs can be identified by a person's every aspects of life styles, the author transfers to us an strong opinion that politics inevitably
drenches everyone in every aspects of life, which I will approve. Nevertheless, I have to point out that the assertion itself seems to have gone to an extreme.

Though an incorporeal faith in mind, the political belief is no inworld imagination but underlying value of one's principles of behaviors, whereby it is inevitably to
give rise to subtle distinction in every aspects of people's everyday lives, including their choice in their company and their way of wearing, talking, eating and so
forth. When Japan was in charge of the extreme militarists in their early 20th century during the World War II, the Japanese troops cultivated a distinguishing
image to the world of tidy service uniforms, nearly mechanical obedience and an outpouring attitude of unscrupulousness and blindfold loyalty to their emperor,
even including their underage children: this perfectly illustrates the indoctrination of a political belief of militarism. The same scenario was coincidently on show on
their ally in Europe, German army under Nazidom. Other than these, you may recognize a Muslim even at the first glance, for their persistence in their own clothes:
their unique clothing style means a sign of self-identification as a Muslim and a collective recognition. To sum up, when people feel free to declare their political beliefs,
everything about them can be a clew for us to quickly identify them.

However, there are times when some people are not glad to reveal their political positions, and then one can be perfectly covered without easily being betrayed by
details in lives. Consider a situation like that: two parties are engaged in the election with the sustenance from their own plutocrats. If you are in camp of one side,
the best strategy to carry on can be publicly and  unambiguously proclaim and canvass for your own political belief. But what if you are not belonging to any any
of them? Maybe an ambiguous attitude is required. Your think-tank may advise you to talk and behave noncommittedly and support both of them in exchange of
potential benefits. That is politics and a wise man in politics will never forget to ultilize these life details to work for him\her. It is no single case in single field of
politics, people have dozens of cases and reasons to hide their political belief for a time being, which will prevent you from quickly recognize his\her political belief
each time.

Simple judgements of one's belief in this way are sometimes misleading. For in specific situations, all kinds of proofs are fabricated to cater to the mainstream
political belief, which is indoctrinated by force, for mere self-protection. There are a flood of these kind of political brainwashings, as it did in the Cutural Revolution
in China in their 60s and 70s. After the victory over Chiang Kai-chek 1949, and the establishment of People's Republic of China, Mao Zedong's position had been
immeasurably stengthened. In the 60s, it went to an extreme that Maoism was forced to be accepted by everyone in China and any forms of inconsistency of
Maoism were suppressed in terror means. Service uniforms were the most popular clothes and quotations from Mao were artificially added into daily talk. People
even broke off with 'spotted' friends however intimate they were. All their life details can never tell their real political thoughts. Without recognizing this, we might
fall into absurd conclusions, such as an unprecendented harmony in China.

In conclusion, people's life details, such as clothes, friends, what they eat or how they talk, can be an important source of information, especially when people are
willing to and allowed to express their own political beliefs. But it is obviously not a determining one. It seems better  have a case-to-case attitude when identifying
the political belief of a person.
