Which aspect should government spend money on, computer technology or other basic needs? In my opinion, the answer depends on whose results will affect people's lives more significantly not only at present, but also in the future.

Firstly, when it comes to computer technology, it is the key element of third industry evolution, just as the steam engine to the first industry evolution, and the electricity to the second one. Any country which controls the tinted computer technology will be the next leader of the world.  Moreover, computer technology also infiltrates into every aspect of people's life. From watch to the medical machine, it prolongs people's lives; make our living more convenient than ever. Money spends in this field will dramatically change people's lives.

Secondly, as other basic needs which are closely related to people's lives are accounted, such as poverty, environment problems and so on, government should spend our taxes on solve those issues without any hesitation. A fitting example will shed some light on this point. Water pollution is an urgent problem to people's everyday living. Polluted water does harm to people's health, and cause many diseases. If government only care the advancement in computer field and take no attention to this momentous problem, no healthy person can work for the computer research. I think before that, this government will be changed into a new humanism one by voters.

All in all, money should be spent on which is urgent and important to human's present and future by balancing the priorities of different aspects among various things which need government budget. Only through spending money wisely, can resources be deployed rationally; only through spending money wisely, can people's lives be improved at the fastest speed; and only through spending money wisely, can a country stand at the leading position of others.
