The author claims that the destiny of society is determined by how children are socialized today. I concede that the claim is on the right philosophical direction. However, important as it is, socialization for children can not be the only determinant. In addition, what we have learned and done to raise our children for better society can not be ignored.

The definition of socialization, involves two aspects. In the perspective of individuals, socialization means to, through the process of interaction with other social members, become qualified component in society. In the perspective of society, on the other hand, socialization is the process of educating individuals. During the process of socialization, it is categorized into two different stages: preliminary socialization and re-socialization. In the essay, what is concerned is preliminary socialization, which focuses children.

Indeed, socialization of children plays a crucial role in the development of society. And its importance is highly related to its tasks. The first task of socialization is to impart basic knowledge and techniques to social members. In this rapidly changing world, each individual is bombarded by countless information. And naturally, the newly-defined illiterate are those who are not able to gain and process information. When we instill knowledge to our children, we are not only preparing them to survive and thrive, but also attempting to accelerate the development of society, because the quality of social members is the foundation of whole society.

Educating individuals to comply with social disciplines is the second task for socialization. Those disciplines, in today's society, serve to keep the development of society in an orderly manner without the disturbance of chaos. The compliance with them is increasingly important because in the globalized world, it is needed to harmonize various relationships among different diverse groups so that the human beings as whole could strive for the same goal.

The third task for socialization means a lot for this environmentally deteriorating world, since it guides social members to form their own personal aim without contradicting the universal aim. When we can do little for environment, human beings as a whole should plan our future in a provisional way, hence restraining individual desire, which sometimes is the source of turbulence, is very much in need for the general sustainable development.

However, the role of socialization can not be overestimated and it is not the only determinant to the destiny of society. Deep down, it is the measure through which we make our society better, not the ultimate purpose of our efforts. And the ultimate purpose which really determines the future, lies in the respect for nature, the sympathy to the weak, worldwide peace and so forth. In short, those that help build a psychologically healthy atmosphere are the determinants.

Talking about how to raise children, we have learned and done enough for the masters of tomorrow's world. Even though our endeavor is insufficient, we are making progress. One example which aptly illustrates this point involves the field of family education. Nowadays, more and more parents realize the pressing responsibility for them to prepare their children to become  qualified future social members. At home, parents encourage children to take care of themselves. In school, parents encourage children to participate all kinds of activities in which they know better how to get along with others. The education in the example above, of both independence and interdependence, is undoubtedly marching to success. Besides, today the education of children is gaining more concern than ever before.

In sum, we admit the importance of socialization of children for our future destiny on the premise that we do not rely on it completely. In addition, we are trying to learn to raise our children for the future of society. It is not the obligation for any specific social member, but for the society as a whole because children themselves, after all, are the future of the society.

楼主的论证观点是很新颖的，但在某方面并没有很好的论证不能让别人信服，还有那段however来的不自然，另外楼主的并列句用的太多了，我并不是反对并列句，某些并列句比较杂有时不能突出你的观点。愚见，多包涵！
