Some people prefer to live in a small town. Others prefer to live in a big city. Which place would you prefer to live in? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

Some people prefer to live in a small town, since they appreciate the fresh air and peaceful environment. However, other people are inclined to live in the big city because of the modern civilization. And as to me, I agree with the latter.

To begin with, I can have more access to advanced education in a big city. In the big cities, the government invest more than 1/3 of the funds to the field of education since they usually point out that education is the key for a nation’s future development. In China, for instance, the best university, such as perking university and Qing Hua University are both located in the capital cities. Besides, the students in the big cities are equipped with better conditions including excellent professors, enough computers, and large libraries. On the contrary, in a small town, there are not enough teachers or schools and even some of the students suffer from hunger let alone better education.

Secondly, It brings me more job opportunities to live in a big city. There is no denying that big cities are the center of the country where there are changes taken place every day. Meanwhile, they gather advanced technology, rich literature and highly- developed economic together. Due to its modernization and development, there are numerous factories and companies, which means plenty of employment and variety of occupations. A case in point is the anyway corporation which is located in the capital city of China. This company owns the faculty of 20.000 members including technique experts, clerks, doctors, managers, the ect.

Last but not least, I can enjoy the convenience to live in a big city. Thanks to the science and technology, life becomes more comfortable for any of us. In the big cities, there are lots of big supermarkets, which contain thousands of products satisfying the requirements of citizens. As to transportation, many people owned private cars, therefore it’s quite simple for people to go anywhere they desire. Arriving quickly, they no linger to worry about to be late for work. However, in a small town, there are few markets and the most common transportation for people is to ride bus. Thus, life is rather uncomfortable for people in a small town.


In your opinion, what is the most important characteristic (for example, honesty, intelligence, sense of humor) that a person can have to be successful in life? Use specific reasons and examples from your experience to explain your answer
In my opinion, the most important quality to be successful is diligence Just like Einstein once said: 99 percent of diligence and 1 percent of inspiration equals to success. A case in point is Marina, a girl of my senior school classmates. She was a not clever enough and usually failed maths exams during the first year. However, she never gave up. Marina kept asking questions to the teacher, correcting her mistakes, and carefully doing the homework. By her diligent efforts, she got the best in the finals of the third year. And that was really amazing!
