When arguing the two types of laws, just and unjust, some people claim that we should only obey the just ones, but disobey the unjust ones. In the modern society which is running under the complex legal system, however, we can not decide our attitude and behaviors simply on whether it is just or not.

Definitely, every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey the just laws. Government establishes laws and uses his compelling power to force his citizens to obey those laws. This is the way a legal society runs by. While the just law could face the interests of most people and protect the rights of those who abide it as well as punish those who break it. Hence every person in such a society is amenable and wishes to obey the just laws.

However, the direct negative point, to disobey the unjust laws, is not justifiable and will involve some further social problems.

First of all, it is not the responsibility of ordinary people to distinguish the justice of certain law and exceeds their capacities which might lead to larger injustice. Undoubtedly, there are some laws might be unfair and damage the proper rights of particular persons. Yet it is hard for every common people to study the laws and estimate which law should be applied and whether it is right or not. Sometimes, the law is a result of balancing the interests from both sides in order to maintain the further development. If those people, who concern only current benefits and feel unjust, disobey the law, it will be themselves who suffer the final punishment. Sometimes, the law is made to protect the inferior and poor people. Therefore, the people in the super status of the society might feel unjust and be sacrificed. But unless doing so the society could not maintain a stable situation. Therefore, people should not be in charge of determining laws.

Secondly, the society might lose his normal order if people take liberties with determining certain laws unjust and disobeying them. Assuming a scene that people disobeys certain laws because he dislike them and classifies them as unjust as his wishes. The other people who still obey them might feel to be cheated and reluctant to follow the laws any more. Gradually, there is be no laws in the society since people could challenge every of them! Even though, in some cases, the law is unjust, it is still open to dangerous by allowing people to disobey the established laws unbendingly.

In conclusion, no matter the laws are just or not, people should not judge it by himself and only choose particular ones to obey. It is our responsibility to obey every established law and appeal to the legislature to amend the unjust ones if we find something deficiency. And the society will advance increasingly in this process.
