In the argument, the arguer draw a conclusion that people wishing to be writers should request training and experience in writing for television, because he considers that television industry would be more profitable than the publishing and bookselling industries. His points seem reasonable at first glance, however, I disagree with the arguer's opinion because of several flaws in his logic.

Firstly, the recent study the arguer provided is unpersuasive at all. Above all, its description is not scientific. Without any detailed background information, data provided by the study do not mean anything. Then, there is little relationship could be compared watching television with reading fiction. Because reading fiction usually is private activity which is affected by personal reading habits and educational background. For example, some children like reading fictions about cartoon and fable. Some adults with higher educational level like reading historical novels. Hence, it is possible that television program have interesting and popular factors which could attract more audiences than reading fiction. Based on discussion above, it is not strange that people prefer to reference to watching television than reading fiction.

Secondly, given that the recent study is rational as the arguer assumes, I could not be convinced that the television industry is more profitable than the publishing and bookselling industries. These two industries do not have something similar to be compared together. The television industry gains money mainly from advertising, but the publishing and bookselling industries could profit from bookselling and publishing taxes. Without powerful evidences to prove that one industry's profit situation would affect another one, I could not agree with the arguer that the publishing and bookselling industries will decline in profitability.

Thirdly, the arguer draw a improper conclusion that people wishing to be writers should practices for television rather than for print media. Although many people wish to gain a great number of money to be a successful writer, there still exist a lot of people writing for ideas who do not mention for profitability. Some writers do not know their productions would be popular in the future, given the writer of Harry Potter as an example, they only write because of interesting and habits. If all of people who wish to have careers as writers focus on writing for television at the beginning, we will lose some wonderful books such as Harry Potter now. Hence, the arguer's conclusion is too absolute at all.

In summary, the arguer does not provide powerful evidence to support his opinion. In order to make his suggestion persuasive, the arguer should add some detailed information about the study and compare of the television industry and the publishing and bookselling industries.
