The only effecitve way to encourage energy conservation is by increasing prices of gasoline and electricity，是否同意此说法。

As the development of science and technology, especially after the advent of industry revolution, increasing energy is consumed every year all over the world. Since the fosil energy is nonrenewed, energy crises arose and called much of the attention of the society. So it increasing prices of gasoline and electricity the only way to encourage energy conservation? From my opint of view, the answer is definitely not.

Admittedly, increasing prices of gasoline and electricity does can encourage energy conservation in a certain level. Anyway, if the prices rise, people will care more about the energy input and try to decrease as much as possible the usage of gasoline and electricity, especially those uncessary part. However, just I have mantioned, it can be effective just in a certain level. Here is the reason. There should be the bottom line of energy usage for a machine, that is, no matter how much you want to save energy, the machine have to consume a certain mount of energy if it runs. Thus increasing prices of gasoline and electricity can just encourage energy conservation in a certain degree.

What I want to mention is that there are other effective ways to encourage energy conservation rather than increasing prices of gasoline and electricity. I will explain it further in the following paragraphs.

One way to achieve that is technology improvement. Say, scientists try to improve the energy efficency of all kinds of machines to save energy, which can be more effective than raising prices. Just imagine that if all the automobiles can run twice or even more times distance with the same amount of gasoline, the rate of energy consuming will be just as half as it at present! And also can other types of machines do. In this way, energy conservation is to be achieved further more effective than increasing prices.

Another way I would like to say is that govenment should advocate the public to have the consience of energy conservation. Nowadays, there is still not enough concernment on energy crisis and lots of common people do not have the concept of energy conservation. They just think that they are totally free of the energy problem in their lives and thus can use energy whatever as they like. These individuals should be informed and educated about the necessarity of energy conservation emergently. In my opinion, great efforts should be put in this issue.

All in all, I cherish the viewpoint that increasing prices of gasoline and electricity is kind of effective to encourage energy conservation, but not the only way to do that. Only through the effort of government, scientists, publics---all of us, can the energy conservation be greatly achieved.
