这个算是初步成功吧，不过NUS好像也只能套到这样了。

如果是不同系的话，你可以同时申请，寄两份材料，两份申请费。

9.20 小秘的信：We had forward your application to the Graduate Committee for reviewing.
9.21 GSO的信：Your application is currently with the School and our office has not yet received any recommendation from SPMS.
9.21晚上 教授的信：I have just submitted your form so it will reach them（GSO) next week.
9.27 GSO的信：Your application is still with School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences (SPMS).To date, our office has not received any recommendation from the School.
无奈，给教授和小秘发了信，教授还没回
9.28  小秘的信：We had already received your enquiries a couple of times and would like to inform you that the Graduate Committee is currently evaluating your application. The process will take around 3 -4  months. Please wait patiently for the results.
哎，搞得我现在茫然不知头绪，不知道材料究竟到那了？都不敢再“骚扰”小秘了。我该给GSO转发小秘的信问清楚吗？
ANYWAY,系里面教授和GSO叫我联系的这位小秘（leonggaik@ntu.edu.sg）从来不给我回信，郁闷。

你要跟秘书说清楚，GSO说你的材料还在系里。要把系里的回信forward给她。还有你要搞清楚一下GSO好像不是Graduate Committee 。Graduate Committee 是你系里的委员会，如果过了这关才会把你的材料给GSO吧，我也有点糊涂了。。。

最后一招，打电话！不过你要做好不能交流的准备。我第一次跟新加坡人打电话的时候，一直在怀疑他们说得是不是英语的。。。

Your application for graduate studies at the Department of Physics, National University of Singapore, has been evaluated favorably. Unfortunately, however, there are no more Research Scholarships available for the January 2008 intake and, therefore, the following two options are available:
(1) You keep your application active for consideration for the August 2008 intake. If you choose this option, your application will be considered with priority; there is no need to submit a new application.
(2) You choose to be admitted in January 2008 for self-financed studies. This option is particularly interesting if you manage to find a supervisor who is willing to hire you as a Research Assistant for at least one semester. You can then apply for a Research Scholarship from August 2008 onwards.

我觉得不是模版。

话里话外都透着要你的意思。你可以联系一下教授，看看有没有人可以提供你半年的奖学金。然后你再申请明年八月的。当然，这有一个风险，万一明年八月的奖学金没有申请到，你的处境就很尴尬了。

保守且稳妥的做法是转成申请明年8月的。

有什么想法我们可以再讨论。

I am still trying to find out your funding situation, and will revert when I have a solution.
下午写了几封申请RA的邮件，有教授这样回，草拟了回信,想听听楼主的建议. NUS让我下个月14号前做出决定,希望能在这之前找到RA position.

   我想申请明年8月的NUS，最近一直在看她们的网站，准备申请的材料，刚刚在她们的 Application for Admission to Graduate Research Programmes 中Supporting Documents 提到的GRE，

Applicants (except for NUS/NTU/SMU graduates) applying for disciplines in Political Science (Ph.D. Only), Psychology, Computing, Engineering, Medicine and Science should preferably submit GRE score (minimum scores ranges from 1200 – 1400 for the verbal & quantitative sections and 3.5 for the analytical section). Applicants (except for NUS/NTU/SMU graduates) applying for disciplines in Business should preferably submit either GRE or GMAT score (above 640).

她只要求上面几个学院要求GRE成绩，可是我要申请的是Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences  ，那是不是说我可以不用GRE成绩啊？？不知道这样理解有没有错呢？？

你那个系我不是很懂，但我觉得应该是要得。我强烈建议你给那边的秘书写封信问一下，这样就保证不会出现问题了。

我给你查了一下，在这个网址：http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/prospective/grad/research/admissionsreq.html

In general, the University requires:

• normally a good Masters degree in a relevant discipline; or
• in exceptional cases, an Honours degree (at least Second Class Upper) or equivalent (e.g., a four-year Bachelors degree with an average grade above B) in a relevant discipline, subject to approval by the Faculty, on a case-by-case basis; and
  
• TOEFL/IELTS, where applicable.
  

All applicants should consult the website of relevant Departments/Programmes for specific departmental requirements.

的确是没有提到gre的事情，但是你还是要好好问问。而且我听说这边文科的博士，一般都要有个硕士，真假不知。

如果你最后搞清楚，希望你能在网上发个帖子，告诉一下大家。也最好告诉一下我，我好告诉后来人。
