TOPIC: ISSUE2 - "Competition is ultimately more beneficial than detrimental to society."

The word "compete" coming from the Latin words meant " to seek together" or "to come together". Competition broadly defined as the relationship of different people chasing the same goal, has a long history. Ever since two cavemen first hunt a same rabbit for his own need, competition has been established. For thousands of years, the competition relationship allowed people to perform better, and then better individual perform improved society to develop faster, consequently, impelled the wheel of the history of human being. The Industrial Revolution introduced and spread technologies that speed many tasks. The competition becomes more and more intense which allowed our material life more convince but spiritual life have overlooked or chosen to ignore.

Individual, as the cell of a society, could make better by competition. Society is composed by groups of people, therefore how developed and modernized of a society is absolutely determined by the quality of such groups of men. From the thermo of Darwin's " The Origin of Survival", we learn that every stride of a society is derived from individual competition which winner survive and loser die. Because of competition, now we are looked and behaved significant different from gorilla or monkey. Since anyone, defined as our competitor, must have some virtues or characters we defected. Competition acting in this way is likely to more conducive to self-correct and self-improvement. Therefore, the competition is not simply to win, but to learn and to grow.

Society, as the environment we lived in, could be boosted by competition. The benefits of competetion from acient to current time make us change from stone plow to iron ultimately to machine. That means easier farming, more food, longer life, and more free time that we use to pursue other things such as art. All of these should be due to the improvement of a society work efficient, subsequently, the improved social efficient make better society. Alternatively, art is also boomed by the competition. From ancient Greek to advantage grade in America, every heyday of art must be along with differential art party. Greek civilization was boomed by Socrates, Demokritos and Heraclitus, running to 15 century, after 300 dark years reigned by the Curia Roamna, Renaissancewas boomed by Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangeloand others, going to recent days, there are so many different arts thus we called civilization variety. We should thanks competition to produce so many spiritual fortunes for us.

Yet, competition can also undermine our happy life and even our satiable society. Ever Since the establishment of competition, any normal person in this relationship was eager to be the winner especially when it knit to self-esteem or some upper background. People fight as a wild animal. And some people use any measure no matter legal or not, in order to get ride of the dilemma. Ultimately, a order society will be destroyed. Mean while the people who cannot acquire happiness unless they have the best of everything. They will always wonder " Is my best enough?”. Thus they work exhausted to perform perfectly in their co-operations and schools; chase best cloth and fanciest cars; must win every game they play. Finally, they act likely in a morbid way.

While I am with Aristotle, who exhorted us to seek the " Golden Rules", I do believe we need to look for a bit balance between competition and life. Although everything has cons and pons, competition has been acting its own best for individual improvement and society development. Now, using competition wisely, more convince world we will obtain.

我的提纲：竞争的好处大于坏处
第一段：竞争对个人发展有利
第二段：竞争对社会发展有利
第三段：竞争对社会和个人发展分别的坏处
第一段末我要表达的意思的对个人精神生活的坏处。于是我在让步的时候提到了关于完美主义带来的坏处。虽然我没有明确说我同意那个，但是从第一段和最后一段都可以看出最后是同意利大于弊的吧。而且论证中我也是倾向的利大于弊吧。我认为自然得出结论不是也可以么。
