Argument 216
The following appeared in a magazine article about planning for retirement.
'Because of its spectacular natural beauty and consistent climate, Clearview should be a top choice for anyone seeking a place to retire. As a bonus, housing costs in Clearview have fallen significantly during the past year, and real estate taxes remain lower than those in neighboring towns. Nevertheless, Clearview's mayor promises many new programs to improve schools, streets, and public services. Retirees in Clearview can also expect excellent health care as they grow older, since the number of physicians in the area is far greater than the national average.'

The planning of retirement presented by the magazine article seems somewhat ideal, as the natural environment and living climate should be considered as a crucial element when choosing the habitat after retiring.  Howbeit, most of the points the article brought forward are unfounded and unpersuasive.

The first coming element of picturesque natural beauty and "consistent climate” proposed by the article are to some extent less important to the choosing of the retirees. Admittedly, the less polluted natural environment would do good to physical health, and so do the climate, however, when planning to move into a district, all aspects associated with the living qualities should be taken into consideration, such as the housing conditions, social security and social services, etc.

The housing costs mentioned by the article secondly could be somewhat ambiguous. Though the general housing costs in Clearview has have fallen remarkably, and also the comparative low taxes of real estate among several neighboring towns have been presented, still, there is no absolute figures of the housing costs, in such instance as the average costs per centiare of the housing. It is possible that it is much more expensive to buy a house in Clearview than in other towns for the equivalent housing. Further, whether the design of the dwelling or heating system installed would be suited for the senior citizens is unknown.

Then this article put forward the viewpoint that the retirees should choose Clearview to set their dwellings for its public services the mayor has promised to taken into action. So obvious it is, whether the promises would be realized is susceptible. Since the retirees are finding some place where they could enjoy their lives with leisure, it is significant that the community could own its comprehensive facilities provided to his residents. The promises may worth considering while it may also prohibit the potential purchasing.

With the most concerned aspect when choosing an inhabitate-- health care system, the article also claims with the status "Clearview owns much more physicians in its area than the national average". Though this comparison may seem persuasive ostensibly, the article fails to provide the absolute data of the average physicians in Clearview when comparing it nationally. There may be some problems that the physicians with their profession of the senior citizens are rare, or rather the average level is much lower than the national average figures. Moreover, there could be other aspects that may inhibit the health care system to be satisfied by the public, in the cases of health care facilities, health care insurances and so forth.

If taken more factors into consideration, the conclusion of choosing Clearview to live in should be even unauthentic according to the magazine's presentation. The prerequisite of this recommendation is somewhat ambiguous since no explicit background of the collections of survey samples were proposed, while the most propounded standpoints should be from the retirees, which the article has omitted. Secondly, the social stability would also be judged when choosing a living district which is commonly treated as the basic living standard. Further more, as the senior citizens are one of the special groups that they should call for the attention of the society, the neighborhoods of their new habitats will also be seriously taken account of. Last but not least, all of this aspects discussed above are based on an assumption of common thoughts, whereas there could exist some exceptions that the preferences of choosing a certain habitat will differ according to the very person.

Thus, the author of the article should take some further investigations from more aspects, for instance, the living preferences of different living habits. Still the exact and comparable data are also required to make this recommendation more persuasive. One point to announce finally, it is the must that the article gives out a comprehensive and elaborate analysis that could be of real help for the retirees to choose that best suited residents after retirement.
