Can scandals, whether in politics, academia or other areas, be useful? It focus our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could. First, what is a scandal? Normally when one hears of a scandal, it caused by someone’s truly outrageous behavior, especial refer to those ultra-popular figures and outstanding leaders, undoubtedly, those people have the more ability to redirect our attention on towards some specific problems. It could be useful, anyway I believe that we do benefit from scandals, but at the same time we pay for it.

To begin with, if something can not actually get enough concentrations, chances are it will not be solved in time as it should. On the contrary, if something happen on a distinguish one; it will cause much more reaction that it would happened in a common. As one example from academia, a scandal over one professor in the famous university of Korea focused popular attention on the previously little-discussed problem of plagiarism. Although allegations of plagiarism had arisen in the past, it was not consequence due to not well be known. Whereas based on the high reputation, the professor was seen as the national hero, the scandal probably focused attention on the problem of misappropriating the writings of others in a way that no individual could have done.

The very fact that a scandal mesmerizes and titillates a society makes it an ideal motivator for focusing public attention on, which could make a circumstance that problems resolve in a relative fair way. As one example, as the internet developed, the information ages comes, the normal news will not cause as much attention as it should. However, those scandals could amaze the people. All the people cave about how the things going. If it is not well settled the unsatisfied commonages will never give up. So it seems that where there is a scandal there will be a problem been settled. At least the outcome will accepted by most people.

However, scandals give other people such a negative impression that it will shake people normal base line and dwarf the niceness in our world. In a long time, many people will in an unsteady condition during the process that they reconstruct their ethics. People will ask themselves that if those outstanding figures could do this why can not us. The profits scandals give us are dwarfed by the negative effects it brings.

In summary, scandals, there are potentially many influential people focus on a particular problem. And it will make a new circumstance that things could settle in a relatively fair way. However, at the same time, we give our trust and ethics base line as a cost. Is it worth? I hope there could be a world without scandals.
