It is people’s nature to treat the money as the mostimportant possession in their lives in the materialistic society. However, is money reallythe most important part of a job? The answer will vary from person to person. Actually there are many aspects of a job, some areassociated with money and some are not. Personally,I think individual interests, workingatmosphere and satisfaction of a job are more significant and meaningful. To begin with, if I choosea job or career, the first thing comes to my mind should definitely be my owninterest. (最好客观点,不要说I, When one choose a job…) I regard interest as the most importantpart of a job because interest can largely inspire my working enthusiasm andmake the work not a burden to me. For example I choose Imagineone wishes to be a tour guide. I justlike this career because I am the kind of person who likes to talk withdifferent people, go to various places in the world and enjoy the beauty of thenature. Though a tour guide may not bring me a lot of monetary wealth, it is the resource of every bite of my sweetnessand happiness that I treasure. In addition, one would be more likely to achieve succeedswhen he/she extremely loves the job, since this couldreturn him/her endless pleasures and the sense of achievement, both of which worth more than money. What's more, the working atmosphere is another importantelement of a job apart from the money. The atmosphere should include thecolleagues, the working facilities, working conditions and so on. Suppose a person who engages in a job whichprovides him with adecent salary. However, the competition in this company so severe/drastic that most of his colleagues may even dosome bad things such as cheating, excluding others from using facilities or justgossip. He may be afraid to go to work everyday and want to quit becauseworking there is a kind of torture. In this sense, money is another thing, happiness is most important (? Money comes at thecost of happiness). Furthermore, sometimespeople choose a job to make his/her life more meaningful by making greatcontribution to the country, gaining achievement in his/her area and obtaining honors andreputations. In the area of science, manyscholars and scientists choose to do researches because they want to makeprogress in his/her area, thus make contributionsto the country. In this way they can gain the sense of self-satisfaction. Wecan see that many famous scientists are not very wealthy but they still lovetheir job and career, because it is the research itselfthat attracts them, not the money. With that said (? I have to admit that), of course, themoney is still an aspect that one cannot neglect, and insome circumstances it is it could be the most important one.Imagine a student who graduates from college not long ago and his family haveused up all the money in order to support his study in college. The mostimportant and urgent thing for that graduate is to earn money to repay hisfamily. In this case, money becomes the mostimportant element of a job.In the finally analysis, though money sometimes may be important, I hold the opinion that for mosttimes, other aspects in a job such as individual interest, working atmosphere, individual satisfaction should be more significant. |
