In the memo, the business manager of Valu-Mart stores asserts that the department of office-supply should increase the product selling on the stock of home machines, such as printers, small copy machines and so on based on the recent discovery of work-at-home trend. The arguer fails to convince the readers due to several lapses in  a number of areas in logical thinking.

Firstly, the arguer conclude that employers are requied to take more work at home from the office than they were in past on the basis of a recent report. It seems that the study mentioned in this statement can not be reliable because of lacking sufficient detailed information. A valid study should possess the features of credibility, generalizability, and objectivity. For instance, we are  not sure that whether the participants in this survey is sufficent enough to enable us to make a scientific statistics for data results. Also the result should eliminate from all the subjects' biases. In this study, the arguer didn't mention any clue to the information on subjects, the origine of results. How can the report be valid? Without all of these additional detailed and direct information given, the study can not be evaluated as effective.

Furthermore, the arguer indicates that according to the trend of wor-at-home, the department should focus their more attention on the home machines instead of office machines. The statement is inconclusive due to the ungrouded supports. It is entirely possible that although the number of employers who prefer and are required to work at home is increased, those who are obligatory to stay in their office always take a large propotion. Most people in our society are still working in their office and in a group instead of isolating from others. Therefor, absent such like and these additional considerations, the argument is not reliable and sustainable.

Last but bot least, the arguer indicates that the office-supply department will be the most profitable by increasing the stock of home office machines and other office supply. The speaker made a hasty conclusion on the basis of not enough evidence. Without a detailed and scientific research on the practical situation on the real demand in the office machine market, the company can not make any quick decisions and invest a large amount of capital on the program. Not addressing all of these information strongly weakens the argument.

To sum, the arguer jumps to the conclusion that the company should make some changes that to increase the home machine stock to enhance the profits of office supply department because of shorting of enough direct and detailed information to support the statement. To make the argument stronger, more valid evidences are expected to show. Without these, the argument is only the arguer's personal speculation.
