提纲：
1、部分肯定非主流文化在现今的重要作用，但不能忽视非主流文化对人类的误导（平衡观点论证）
2、历史上，非主流文化一度扮演重要角色，成为解释自然界和人类社会大部分事情的方式，有好有坏。好的是安抚人类对未知的恐惧，稳定社会和谐（比如基督教），坏的是被统治阶级利用控制人民
3、当今，非主流文化在一些主流科学不能解释的领域和事情上具有重要的作用，满足人们对未知的需求。但一旦被利用，破坏性也更大（恐怖主义、原教旨主义）
4、未来，随着科技发展，非主流将渐渐消退，甚至可能有些非主流会成为主流中的一部分，如有一天科学证明超自然的存在；在有些领域，特别是宗教超脱于科学之外，却仍然可能长久存在并扮演重要位置，因为人的心灵是无法受科学控制的

I fundamentally agree with the author's expatiate that nonmainstream areas of inquiry do play an important role in society because of their strong effect on the issues mainstream science can not explain. However, we should keep an eye on the negative impact of nonmainstream.
Nonmainsream areas of inquiry did have an obviously influence on human being's society and development during our long history. Sometimes, they just played the major role of satisfying human's queries about where human come from or why there are four seasons and who create this. Science is based on the experiences human being gain from the practice, and grow stronger when such experiences get together and accumulate. What we can image is that ancient people do not have enough knowledge to form an integrate science system, and this was the precondition why nonmainstream nowadays are some kind of mainstream in ancient. Therefore, things like astrology, fortune-telling, and psychic and paranormal pursuits were produced to fulfil people's demand to respond the questions and pacificate people from the fear to the unknown world.
Nowadays, science has been developed to an unbelievable integrated system and explained many peradventures which ancient people could not. However, we still could not tell that we do not need nonmianstream, as there are still so many things science can not tell us why and how it happens. For instance, scientists have not conclude reliable explanations on how huge exactly our universe is, and how long has it existed, and what is earth comparing to the universe. Whether there are any living things out of the earth and why human being are not like other creatures in this world remain unfathomed, too. Any of such questions call for nonmainstream inquiry to let people live in the world peacefully and calmness. However, not all kinds of nonmainstream can help human beings. Some extreme religions evolve to the basic of terrorism which is one of the most austere problem throughout the world.
We can not tell the future, but we can claim that science will play an more and more significant way to solve the problems we will meet. Nonmainsream areas of inquiry will fade away from our world to some degree. However, we will still need such ways as science can not tell the all. And, sometime nonmainstream today might become mainstream because it is proved by science to be reasonable. Like supernature might be a thing what we can explain and use in the future.In addition, some fields just need nonmainstream even in the future when science is almost perfect. That is the mentality of any single person which can not be controled by science. This is why we need nonmainstream like religion which can regular people through their soul, and is why the world remains amazing at any time of its history.
To sum up, nonmainstream areas of inquiry does play a vital role in society by telling people what science can not. And it will exist in some realms in a long time which we can not avoid. What we really need to prevent is never let some excessive nonmainstreams destroy the world.
