Cultural treasures were accumulated, history stories were recorded, and even more ideas or techniques were handed down, which in a whole have contributed to the definition of "History" macroscopically. Should this nonobjective concept be taken so narrow focused? The answers may not be so simply handled in my opinion.
When history comes into human's daily life, the attitudes toward "What history benefits us in reality" are most frequently highlighted to the cultural life or traditions under a certain history influenced social atmosphere. Not until the chinese government have taken into a practice of modifying the constitutions with the "Labor-force Holiday", do the public suddenly are aware of the renaissance of the halfway gone chinese traditions. Thus, it is the well-done job that government reminds its citizens of the chinese characteristic daily life styles under the direction of a historical baton.
If History could act on the leadership of a social attitude towards public viewpoints, so does it represent in the scientific research realm. Millions of times mentioned saying of "climb over the giant's shoulder" better interprets the introduction role that history is acting out. Whenever the scientific topic presented, all the already announced concepts as a back-up resource pool should be collected for a comprehensive review. So it is the process that how the general scientific research gets started --conclusions are summarized, and then unsolved problems are targeted.
Nevertheless, this should not be enough. When history is more frequently associated with political realm, to abandon the works history devoted to politics should always be unfounded. Philosophers extract the soul of serials of political activities to compose such a theory which would then take its time for a guidance of step-affairs. This is all the same when taking the samples of how the U.S. constitutions are carried on. All the accomplished cases are collected to fulfill the constitutional system which could then be taken as a yardstick for the subsequent affairs.
When retrospect is taken, the multiply roles that history played among all the political affairs, scientific realms, public daily lives and so forth, the definition of the sounds presented with "...only to the extent that is it to our daily life" could now be rebutted undoubtedly, --too narrowing an eyesight, could always restrict in view and shallow in understanding.
