In the real world making things bigger and complex which sounds involving more work and efforts isnot often expected. In contrast making things as simple as possibleis appreciated especially in a lot of fields such as scientific research and exploration, negotiation and education. In addition itis more effort and talent sometimes even more courage that is needed to simplify the problem or make things simple to be comprehensive, convincing and easy to be figured out .
There is an obvious inclination/tendency for people to make things bigger and morecomplex when they want to solve problems, convince someone or justsimply show off their abilities and most likely the bigger andcomplex results do not receive high evaluation in the end. Thereare many reasons for this phenomenon which someone attributes tohuman nature. Here come two examples. As the development oftechnology, many people tend use sophisticated tools or equipmentsto solve problems, which can be just done well in simple ways withless cost and time consuming , only because they want to berecognized skilled, expert or just in fashion. In another examplewhich is from my experience one of my college classmates wassupposed to answer a question assigned by his teacher. He fund alot of related materials and worked hard filling up all theanswering sheets expecting that the teacher will satisfy with hiswork. However to his surprise, He just got B minus. The comment onthe sheet is that: you really did a lot of work related to theproblem, but you are incompetent to get the point of it.Additionally your answer is Confusing and withoutcoherence.
In the opposite side to make thingsas simple as possible is not as simple as it sounds, in deed/factit need more effort and competence/ability and even courage to makeit. Just in the examples of the last paragraph, people can dothings better if they realize the defection of this human nature.In addition the process of simplification is not just in the formor the appearance but also in the deep meaning such as visionary insight or profound understanding of the problem. Admittedly lotsof people may confront problems that appear complicated anddifficult to be figured out in our daily life, they can make theirown chooses, but only the man with sufficient wisdom and competencecan tell the superficial appearance and the true essence apart,abstract the main principle inside from the disturbing outerphenomena, get the final concise and precise conclusions. Severalhundred yeas ago people are confused about the economic phenomenon until the principle of demand and apply comes out, And nowadaysbased on a lot of brilliant economists’ hard working, a completestructure with principles of economy, finance and banking was built with which people are able to deal with economy confidently andcompetently.
In conclusion it is more likely andeasier to make things bigger and complicated, while it is thingswith simple form or appearance and exact meaning inside that is really wanted and difficult to achieve. More effort and courage isrequired and people benefit from it.
