I agree with the arguer that society does not place enough emphasis on the intellect, such as reasoning and other cognitive skills. Nevertheless, having thought deeply, we should know the reason why society prefers to emphasis on the other profession not the intellect.

The fist reason why i agree with the speaker is that reasoning and cognitive skills are mostly trained in the early of one’s lifetime, which means, the training program is treated as education. The results of any investment on the education is unable to estimate easily at the beginning, so society prefers to pay more attention on the market-driven items rather than education, which the leader risks losing reputation for. Considering the training of the reasoning and other cognitive skills is going to take a long time, society may not would like to cost limited resource on the unlimited education program.
Secondly, during the process of development, industrialization leads to the less use of the brain.  Looking back in the history，since human being start to use their hands, they have created untold miracle no-stop. However, after the industrial revolution, more and more auto machine, even the computer take charge in many reasoning and computation works, which was done by the brain only before. What is more, people would like to picture their further life like this: sitting on the sofa and order the robot dose everything for them.
Certainly, on the other hand, too much emphasis on the intellect does not mean any benefit to the development. Practice is as important as reasoning. This illustrates that practice as a step of the progress should not be overlooked anyhow. After all, without practice, everything around us can not be created just by thinking or reasoning. In addition, according to the division of the social work, society must pay some attention to the practice in order to meet people’s need in everyday life. Otherwise, the short of the creation may break the stabilization sooner or later.
In conclusion, it is a compromise that we should take the suitable emphasis on the intellect. To be better for the offspring, we need to realize the importance of the payment on the training of the intellect. To stabilize the society, we should concentrate on the balance of the investment, either more or less may be dangerous for our society.

文章的文字比较流畅，观点和论证角度也还可以。但是前面两段论述是社会不重视智力培养，到了第三段论述突然转到过度重视智力培养，相当突兀。既然同意社会不重视智力培养这个观点，就应该论述智力培养的重要性，而不是再反过来说过度重视智力怎样怎样，毕竟这道题是一个结论而不是建议。
遣词造句方面仍有一些需要改善之处，比如词性变换：education->educational等等需要注意
还有词语的搭配：intellect是一个aspect而不是profession等等
