Can we tell something about a society’s ideas and values just by observing the appearance and behavior of its people? The author believes that we can find much by this means. To a large extent, what the author says makes good sense, because it is just the people’s ideas and values that consist those of the society, and by studying individual we can get a general view of the society.

On the one hand, the way people look and dress can more or less reveals something about their religious belief, which, as a matter of fact, informs us what the society’s ideas and values. For instance, in an Arab country, what the people dress like is quite different from that of other countries, and you can easily distinguish them with the ones from the western countries. Furthermore, it is likely to get some information about the society in which they live, such as the probable tendency of ideas and values. Also, few of the Afro-American will stand for racial discrimination because they are the ones who suffer most from it. And their opinions consist part of the society’s values, we can never ignore them when we study that society.

On the other hand, we can get much by watching the citizens’ behaviors. Take the eating of the people for example, in the western world, most vegetarians belong to the upper class for the simple reason that other people do not have too much attention to pay to their daily diet. And also, a person from English nearly always keeps a distance from the other when they are conversing, which can be a clear sign that he is quite conservative. Knowing these, the ideas and values of the society are quite obvious.

It is true that we can get a lot of what a society’s ideas and values may be like just by observing the people who live in it, however, if we want to have a general vista of the society, we have to take other measures to get more information. We can do some research or investigation to gain some more detailed things we want. Another good choice is to learn something about its history.

All in all, the way people look, dress, and act can provide us a lot about the possible tendency of their ideas and values, which can inform us a good many things about the society in which they live. With this method, we can get a general scene about the society, however, if we want to study it in more detailed way, we must take other actions to select more information.

Can we tell something about a society’s ideas and values just by observing the appearance and behavior of its people? The author believes that we can find much by this means. To a large extent, what the author says makes good sense, because it is just the people’s ideas and values that consist those of the society指代不明~, and by studying individual we can get a general view of the society.单个人能反映社会吗？题目里也是用people来表示一个整体的概念。可以改成and we can get a general view by abservation and study.

我觉得vegetarian的例子不是很好~~如果非要说的话只能说成上层社会吃素（素食很贵）这种行为，反映出他们是很注重生活品质的特性。这样比较符合behavioràvalues
It is true that we can get （上文就有很多get,换一下make a good insight into the culture and value……也不是很好）a lot of what a society’s ideas and values may be like just by observing the people who live in it, however, if we want to have a general vista of the society, we have to take other measures to get more information. We can do some research or investigation to gain some more detailed things（details） we want. Another good choice is to learn something about its history.(研究社会，不只是细节的关系哦~)

All in all, the way people look, dress, and act can provide us a lot about the possible tendency of their ideas and values, which can inform us a good many things about the society in which they live（that society）. With this method(further research 和前面对应一下), we can get a general scene about the society, however, if we want to study it in more detailed way, we must take other actions to select more information.

例子找的不错，结构很还可以，就是表达的时候重复太多，语言不够丰富哦~~比如说同一个概念最好在一个段里不要用同一个词组，不如说你的the society in which they live~；还有，关联词一定要注意了，要能反映句子之间的逻辑关系，一定要重视。
