Argue 59 飞跃 dreams 第二次作业
59.The following appeared in an article in the health section of a newspaper.
"According to the available medical records, the six worst worldwide flu epidemics during the past 300 years occurred in 1729, 1830, 1918, 1957, 1968, and 1977. These were all years with heavy sunspot activity-that is, years when the Earth received significantly more solar energy than in normal years. People at particular risk for the flu should therefore avoid prolonged exposure to the Sun."
In this article, the author recommends that we avoid ourselves expose to the sun for a long time, because we often sunbathe could lead to the result that we are easily infected with the flu epidemics. To support this recommendation the author cites the facts about sunspot activity and flu epidemics. At first glance, these evidences are reliable. However, we are carefully examining these support evidence, reveals that it lends little credible support to the author’s claim.
In the first place, no evidence shows that always sun oneself does necessarily indicate that people catch cold easily .Maybe there are many other factors lead to catch cold ,such as badly health condition, pollution in our living environment and so on. If people are exposed to the sun that lead to catch cold, people should avoid them exposing to the sun. Nevertheless, the doctor said that always sun oneself is benefit for our health, how to deal with these ambiguous preconditions. So I can not be convinced that sun oneself suffer cold.
In the second place, the arguer make a false relationship that the sunspot activity and flu epidemics. What is more, the author provides no full evidence which could prove his view. Whether there are only six times heavy sunspot activities in the past 300 years. It is equally possible that there are some other heavy sunspot activities in the past 300 years, but it didn’t lead to the result that worst worldwide flu epidemics.
Finally, even if the sunspot activity may lead to the fact that people catch cold easily, the author provides no firm evidence that it is due to more solar energy than usual. Perhaps, the sunspot activity result in climate changed, thus the temperature have take part in great change. Owing to many people didn’t adapt these changes, conduces to sicken for cold.
To sum up, the article’s author cannot justify his or her recommendation on the basis of the scant evidence provided in article. To bolster the recommendation the author must provide that college interrelated material which prove sun oneself lead to catch a cold. I would also need to know the condition whether these other the sunspot except the six times. To better assess the argument I would need to know the other reason that cause the cold.
看了上篇文章后,严重吸取教训,不知道有没有变好些呢??有什么意见尽管提出出来,非常欢迎啊.反正我们组建这个组就是为了相互学习嘛!!! 欢迎砸转啊
