TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."


        The prespective education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student , as the speaker cited, is reasonable, but only partially, for which I think it’s not a full-scale congition. To get the opposite meaning of the speaker’s contension, namely if education is not specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, then it will be unefficient. It’s apperently inaccurate. The reason why the speaker draw the assertive conclusion is merely because he or she didn’t take the comprehensive factors into consideration. I will illustrate some examples to support my opinion, which is education will be more effective when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, and it will still be effective even if it is not specifically designed.

        To elaborate this issue, first and foremost, we should comprehend what is education and what is the efficiency of education. In a broad sense, the process that enhences people’s knowledge and skills, affects people’s thought, can be seen as education. As far as I am concerned, education can be classified into two groups, specifically designed education and systemic education(i.e. not specifically designed education). As a matter of fact, the purpose that people receive education is to meet one’s individual needs and interests better. As for the efficiency of education, it’s a concept that varies from person to person. Strong adaptive faculty as someone get, to adapte themselves to any kind of education easily. While others whose adaptive faculty is not strong enough have to receive the specifically designed education to increase their efficiency and spur their appetite for study. The efficiency of education is not merely the speed of study some certain lores, but whether can solve the problem in practice as well.

        Comparision to the specifically designed education, the systemic education is truly efficiency. Taking my own university as an example, every students must receive the systemic education from natural science to specialized courses. Every steps foster the students’ thinking model gradually. The aim of the systemic education is not only to teach the student a specific skill, but also to inculcate them a set of methods to ravel out the problems they may encounter in life. With these set of methods, they will naturally become more effective than others who doesn't have them.

        There will never be short of the instance to prove the systemic education is effective in history. He who graduated from Princeton University, world-famous scientist and inventor,Albert Einstein, was receive the systemic education and be capable of receaching the crest of the scientific and invention fields. Without the systemic education, he might not be so effective and get that eclat during his lift time.

        However, as for the specifically designed education, it can sometimes make the perfection still more perfect. For example, as regards a playful student, the best way to educate him is to combine the study with the game so that the student can learn while playing games. Using these kind of specifically designed education has a great chance to increase the effciency of education. More and more Chineses schools start to implement these specifically designed education nowadays in order to meet the individual needs and interests of each studen.

        From what has been discussed above, what the speaker brought forward is exparte. We cannot simply deny that the systemic education is uneffeciency. Yet specifically designed education is more effective sometimes. We have to treat both points comprehensively and then can sum up the conclusion that education will be more effective when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, and it will still be effective even if it is not specifically designed.
