“Speed limits on our state’s highways should be eliminated in order to increase our state’s prosperity. Because greater speed means more efficient travel, commercial deliveries will be faster, increasing business profits. Elimination of speed limits will also make driving more attractive motorists, so that more people will use the highways, providing more highway toll revenues for the state. At the same time, safety on our highways will not be affected: daytime speed limits eliminated last year in the western states of our country, and no significant increase in the number of accidents in the states has been reported.”
本州高速公路的限速应该被取消以促进本州的繁荣。由于更高的速度意味着更高效的交通，商业物流将会更快捷，从而增加商业利润。限速的取消同样也会使驾驶对于司机更有吸引力，因而更多的人将会使用高速公路，为本州带来更多的路费收入。同时，高速路的安全并不会受到影响：本国西部州去年取消了白天的限速，那些州上报的事故数量并没有显著增加。

The author recommends that our state’s highways limitation should be eliminated in order in crease the prosperity. To support this conclusion, the author assumes that the business profits and the highway toll revenues will increase after elimination. And compared with the western states, the elimination will not affect the safety of our states. However, the author fallen to provide some statistics evidences to this conclusion.
In the first place, the author assumed that eliminate the speed limits on our state’s highways just in order to increase our state’s prosperity. However, this is not necessarily the case. There is no evidence to prove that eliminate the speed limits will definitely increase the prosperity. The prosperity of a state depends on many factors, like business, technology, travel and so on. It is entirely possible that the state is already prosperity enough; the speed of highway has nothing to do with its prosperity. Or perhaps, the transportation is not the major part of the state’s financial income. It is possible that the speed of our state’s highways is extremely high before, that cause the traffic problems of our state which decrease our prosperity.
In the second place, even if the limitation of the highway speed should be eliminate, the author assumes that it will lead a more efficient travel, and then increase the business profits and more people will choose to use highways. Nevertheless, the author offers no evidence to substantiate this assumption. It is entirely possible that our state’s highways are totally had a bad condition, there is less people want to use the highway than airplanes and railway. Hence, even though the speed limit is eliminates, it will do little benefit to an efficient traffic. Furthermore, weather the commercial deliver will faster than before or the business profits will increase? They also have relationship with some other factors. Such as the kind of traffic or delivery methods.
Finally, the author assumes that safety of our states will not to be increased just because the elimination of speed limits of western states in daytimes caused no insignificant increase of number of accidents. However, this is not necessarily the case. The author didn’t provide any evidence to show that the two states have comparability of the highways. Perhaps, even the western eliminate the speed limits, it is also lower than our state’s. It is possible that the western state’s highways have a better condition than ours. If our state eliminates the speed limits, the traffic accident will dramatically increase.
In sum, the recommends of eliminate the speed limits of our states in order to increase the prosperity is not well supported. To convince me, the author should have provided clearly statistics evidence that elimination of speed limits will definitely increase our prosperity and the reasons why people will like to choose the highway than other traffic than before. Also, the author must provide some evidence of the highways of two states in the speed before, road condition and number of traffics. Therefore, we can use there information to evaluated this recommends more efficiently.
