103. 只有在历史研究与我们的日常生活相关的前提下，历史研究才有价值。

The speaker asserts that the study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives. While it is true that history would conduct the deed in our daily life, the speaker overlooks the contribution of history to our progression of society.

Admittedly, history would influence our daily lives, especially in modern society. Every country has its own history and people always conform the tradition and convention which the history bequeaths to the nation. Such as people would dress kimono, one kind of clothe, in Japan during festival and in China, people always eat rice dumpling in the Dragon Boat Festival to memorialize the ancestor Quyuan. Furthermore, the moral standard is formalized in the endless flow of history, and people would know what should do and not today. In these cases, history always is relevant to our daily lives and people can feel it very familiar. Thus, study the history which close to our daily lives is very vital to conduct our today’s lives.

However, history not only contributes to our daily lives, but also helps us to analysis the essential rule of development of human. Human has developed for a very long time and in the endless flow of history, there are some essential rules to lead human to progress. For instance, the relationship of production must fit for the productivity and so on. They conduct human to develop and if we study and master them, we would use them for conducting our future life. So, studying the rules in history is very important to know the future of human.

Furthermore, people always want to know and recognize themselves and the society by studying history. Many reasons of today’s problems come from the past and people must know the history, if they want to solve these problems, such as Israeli-Palestinian conflict. On the other hand, people could summarize lessons and experiences from history and then avoid committing the same mistake in today’s life. In this way, human would develop and progress more effectively and rapidly since they would avoid some detours.

In the next place, people would lionize and mimic some hero in history, which can give them inspiration. For example, a student is contagious for the spirit of adventure of some great explorers, and then he would want to be an explorer like the persons he lionizes. In this process of strive, he would be more brave and optimism and at last he may be a real explorer, which could be said that history help him. And from history, people may find the courage which can overcome difficulties and never fear them. In one word, studying history would give us a new sense which makes us progress and become a real man the society need.  

In sum, the speaker just emphasize history is valued when it is relevant to our daily lives, but overlooks some other historic contributions to human. We can find and master the essential rules to help us construct future life by studying history. Then solve some historic problems and avoid committing the same mistake. People also can find some historic hero and consider them as their leader of life. In one word, the purpose of studying history is improve ourselves and develop the society---- I cannot imagine another more valuable purpose than it.
