WORDS: 467 TIME: 上午 12:45:00 DATE: 2008-2-14
I fundamentally disagree with the speaker'sassertion that tourism will soon become unnecessary just because of theappearance of television and Internet. Admittedly, the rapid development ofinstant communication tools has enabled people to enjoy sights much more conveniently, yet the speaker overstates the significance of those new technologies.Actually, tourism has become an increasingly indispensable part in people'sdaily life, and will never be replaced. All my perspectives will be presentedas follows.
First, it is people's economic ability andinterest rather than television or computers that determine the development oftourism. A simple example will serve to illustrate my point. After economy hasexperienced a healthy growth, and people have earned enough money, it will bemore easily for people to select the place they are interested in,consequently, tourism will be much more prosperous rather than obsolete. However, if people all suffered from heavy economic burden, the tourism will besurely greatly affected, in which case tourism will be less popular than everbefore. Thereby, the speaker’s speculation that tourism will become obsoletejust because of television and computer is a rush conclusion, for there areother more important factors contributing greatly to the development oftourism.
Additionally, television and Internet'sappearance actually accelerate the growth of tourism. After entering into thenew century, human being has experienced the fast development of informationera, and people have witnessed a phenomenon that there are an increasing numberof tourists. We cannot deny the great contribution of television and worldwidecomputer connections, which facilitate people more easily to approach foreignculture and thousands of places of sights. From this aspect, those hightechnology products actually satisfy people's need of understanding the world'sbeauty, and dominate public's interest in tourism. So we can draw a conclusionthat television and Internet exert a positive rather than negative influence ontourism.
Admittedly, television, Internet and otherinstant media have become a crucial part in people' daily life. Withoutspending a large mount of money and time, we can enjoy videos or photographs ofthe famous interests while chewing pop-corn at home. Instant media not onlyprovide a convenient approach to release mood and enjoy beauty, but also has beena vital tool for those who are disable to walk to realize the colorful world.Yet, it is irrational to place too much emphasis on those high technology, after all, they are just tools to convenient our life, while having no abilityto replace tourism, besides which now has developed into a flourishingindustry.
In conclusion, I fundamentally disagreewith the speaker’s claim. There is no obvious phenomenon to reveal televisionand Internet will result in the tourism’s obsolete. On the contrary, thoseinstant media will contribute greatly to the growth of tourism and make tourismmore and more popular. |
