TOPIC: ISSUE130 - "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

Have we found an way to raise children who can bring about a better society? In the very notion of socialization and in retrospect of the development history of our society,  I tend to agree that we have learned how to raise children to get a better society while considering the relationship between the process of children socialization and the future of the society.

An threshold conception I would like to denfine（define） is the item of "socialization".
In my observation, process of socialization towards children includes various realms--the education children receive, the circumstance(circumstance) they grow up in, the news mainstream media pass to them and their values toward the world, the life and the society. Meanwhile, the result of the socialization determines the destiny of society, for the reason that it is them--the children in nowadays--that would constitue(constitute) society in the future. In other words, the society in future exactly reflects their spirit and behaviour(behavior). Try to image a child who lived in hatred and violence, the life in his later time must be companied with crimes. On the contrary, if our children have received the nomal(normal) education, what they get in schools whould(would) lead them intellectual(intellectual) enough to treat the unhappy and the complex problems in the future--no matter the motion or the tecnicial(technical) problems; if our children have grown up in a society where people are kind and polite to others, they would see the politeness as standards in life and ask themselves to do so; if our children have got just information and commendation from the media, the justice would root in their minds; and if they have been given enough chances to cultivate their values about life and world, and the values are unique and correct, then our world would get a hope engineer away the terrism(terrorism), the war and other ugly things. Thus, I totally agree with the statement that "hwo(how) children are socialized today determines the destiny of society".

Unfortunately, there is an hopeless attitude toward the future, which fingers out that we--as the precedent（parents） of the host in the future--have not find them a proper way to achieve the goal of building a better society. Admittedly, I have to concede that there are really some scandals and something unsatisfying in the world; the war, the corruption, the crime, the pollution and the challenging problems from the Internet development. In retrospect of the nearly one century, we humane beings are on the way mixed with civilization development and crisis rising from the inner nature of ourselves. It is just greedy, aggression, lust and some other human nature that contribute to the problems above. And in such circumstance, there naturelly(naturally) comes a query that whether our children could improve the society. However, while having been in circumspect of the history carefully,  I have enough confidence to debate with the view. We need look no further than what we have done to balance the mistakes we ever made. The laws against the pollution have been made, the anti-war conception have been spread worldwide, and the actions to prevent youth crime have been taken effectively. If we change an angle to treat the mistakes, we would find that they are just the prices and errors in the process we human beings--as a species--make ourselves stronger and more competing to survive in the nature. And lucky enough, we have realized the errors. And more fortunate, our chilren(children) get both a society system being improved by their parents all the time in this age and the precious lessons concluded by their precedents. Therefore, in my view, they could be the best date for our children about how to build a better society.

指出作者的论点蕴含着一种对未来的没有信心甚至是悲观的态度
但当我们考虑到历史的进步性以及人们对社会做出的贡献时，我们会发现那种把未来变得更好的方法已经掌握了
2        诚然，孩子的社会化极大的决定着社会的未来。这个社会化包括他们接受的教育，每天通过媒体接触的信息，观念信仰的养成，对人对事的态度及行为习惯等等。当我们考虑到在未来，正是这些今天的孩子在主导着社会时，他们的社会化过程确实很重要： 他们在学校掌握知识的程度、培养的创新精神决定着未来相关事业的进步或原地踏步； 他们的协作精神，养成的tolerant的态度决定着未来team work的效率； 媒体报道的导向作用影响着他们对道德和物质的理解及其未来价值体系的形成---是为了金钱与利益可以不择手段还是正确的对待财富。当这些孩子长大后，他们的思想、技术等变成了主导思想，并影响着他们的下一代
3        不得不承认，现在的社会不是十全十美的，起码还受着一些enduring problems的影响——它们来自人类的本性。如暴力，贪婪等。社会上的拜金主义（money worship）等也确实影响着孩子，娱乐圈的丑闻、政治丑闻、学术界的抄袭现象（plagiarize the student’s paper）也影响着孩子
4        但是，纵观历史，以及想在人们做出的种种努力可以发现，我们已经发现怎么把孩子教育的更好：
历史的发展——对艺术，科学，言论的包容性的发展； 经济的发展 ；以及现在在教育上下的功夫，均衡教育
同时，人们的努力是raise children的最好证据——法律的监管与完善，正义的弘扬—》正确的道德理念，价值观；  政府、法律对丑闻的监管、惩治力度——无形中就告诉孩子什么是好的，什么不好； 人们越来越注重教育——由原来只注重知识传授到现在的心理关注，新学科的出现。。。
