In this argument, the arguer comes to the conclusion that though the daily use of ichthaid derived from the fish oil, it is good way to prevent absenteeism and lower colds in local. To support these points, the author cites that a study suggests that eating fish can prevent colds. However, the recommendation relay on a couple of specious assumptions, which render it unconvincing as it stands.
First and foremost, lacking specific information about the study report, it is impossible to assess the conclusion that eating substantiate amount of fish enable human to prevent from colds. On the one hand, the author fails to differentiate some key factors between west and east. It is entirely possible that the temperature in west more unpredictably changes than that in east, which all too often leads to increment in colds. It is also entirely possible that the residents in west specially concern about prevent from getting colds. On the other hand, consider if the most illness would like to have a rest at home instead of visiting the doctor, it can not ensure that residents in west is less likely to get colds than that in east. In short, unless the author successes in ruling out such factors, the conclusion according to the report is reliable.

Common sense and experience tell me that in dairy life, it is usual fact that if a person gets up late for school or work, the best way to avoid punishment is to find certain pretext including getting colds. Even assuming the validity of the reason for absenteeism, the recommendation that the dairy use of ichthaid is a good way to prevent from colds is open to doubtable. The author provides no scientific research and evidence to bolster that the production derived from fish oil is able to take as same effect as fish. In addition, while it may be true in some case, but perhaps that a long-term use might carry undesirable side-effect, which has enduring effect on the patients’ health. Unless the author demonstrates the effect and safe of production, the author’s concern about it is unfounded.
