I fundamentally agree the speaker's assertion that faculty participating related working contribute to improvement of the quality of instruction. However, it is unnecessary to impose all faculty members to do so, especially when considering the reality of universities.To

begin with, working at course related profession benefit the faculty's performance when it comes to teaching. Lecture and professor are more acceptable to students, according to a survey conducted by the United Nation Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Those who have work experience of real project and tend to combined the laws and principals of physics with concrete engineering examples. In this way, students understand abstract knowledge more easily than those who just learning facts in mind sitting at desk all day long.

By participating in projects and program in real companies, teachers are likely to learn the course in depth. One spend all his time in academic world like laboratory and library may tend to be isolated and fail to address his research objectives to the field of the most prevalence. Many famous professors in the United Stated have experience of working related to the course he teaches. They acknowledge exactly which field is worthy researching so they would not waste any time and resource on old fashion technology. For instance, while the japans engineers are working hard on fax machine, the researcher from United Stated had begun the development of next generation of communication which is widely used today. Form this example, we learn that instructors learn the lasted scientific tendency, thus he tend to inspire his student on the edge of new development.

However, some educational experts may not agree on imposing every college teacher to work outside in order to gain additional experience on his course-related field. Their first reason has to do with its necessity. Although many universities have cooperation with famous companies and firms for developing new products or improving existing product, it rarely meets the demand of working of all teachers. In fact, only a few well-known professors have the ability and opportunity are invited to participate in projects in real company. In fact, an instructor is teaching the fundamental courses well as long as he is prepared, as most laws and principle of physics can be explained well by illustration with charts and diagrams.

Another reason is that teacher’s working outside take over time and energy which should have been used to spend on students. This is especially true when they spent too much time on working and get exhausted when they go back to class. As a result, it decreases the quality of instruction and therefore the academic level of his students. After all, it does not make any sense if they perform not as well as those who do not have to work.

In sum, we should encourage, at least do not oppose instructors, lectures and professors to earn experience form course related working for its potential benefit to students. Managers of university should well discuss how to the arrange instruction schedule in order to balance teaching and working and ensure that all faculty members had placed the first priority to students.

我的语言也很差,就不说语言的事了,讲讲这篇issue的逻辑吧。
你总的逻辑是
老师通过工作可以将理论结合实际
老师通过工作可以掌握最前沿的科学
有些老师可能找不到合适的工作
有些老师可能在工作上花费过多时间
题目说要出去工作,和课程相关的。第二段举的例子是一些学者将研究工作和外部工作结合起来,感觉不是很合适。没有outside the academic world。
我觉得你漏掉了一个点是,有些学科如人文和纯自然科学,老师出去工作反而会降低教学质量。因为那些学科不需要工作经验,他们需要的思考问题的方法,如果把工作经验加给他们,可能束缚他们的思想。另外,不是所有人都适合出去工作的,有些科学家一生都泡在实验室里,他们的工作也许在几十年后才会造福于人类。比如爱因斯坦等一批科学家在20世纪三十年代就几乎将固体物理的理论完成,而基于这些理论的半导体技术至今仍然造福人类。如果他们被强迫出去工作,就会打断他们的研究等等。
