The speaker claims that all nations should cooperate to build a global university designed to engage students solving the world's most persist social problems. I concede that a global university could to some extent help the communication of students and scholars from all over the world, however, I do not agree that the global university could serve our society to solve the world's most persistent social problems, including environmental pollution, racial prejudices, wars, hungers and etc.

Admittedly, developing a global university could gather the most excellent students and scholars who can bring a great significance to our world and motivate the communication and understanding of various cultures. With good and qualified enough students from all over the world, students, teachers and professors can to a large extent cooperate with each other, learn from each other, and overcome the difficulties of the problems of all subjects easily. Under this academic atmosphere, students and scholars may be largely and greatly inspired to earn creativities and imagination. What is more, people from different countries with varieties of customs and cultures can learn from each other, not only understanding the customs of different countries, but knowing about the different methods of thinking. As a result, the global university could enrich in various elements of different races, but more essentially, could motivate and stumulate its development in the field of academic research.

However, a global university, in my opinion, can not solve the world's most persist social problems, such as environmental pollution, energy dearth, race prejudices, wars and hungers. Take the environmental pollution for instance, with the development of science and technology, our world environment has cruelly been polluted and contaminated, resulting in the extinct of varieties of animals and vegetables. What is worse, it has brought negative effects on our human beings, which is threatening our lives step by step.  Do you ensure that a global university could handle and eventually solve these problems? No. These problems are so complex and complicated that even countries all over the world could not, not to mention a global univercity. Only our human being all eventually improve their consciousness and perception in realizing that our environment plays a considerable role in our lives and thus we have to protect and save it . Otherwise, our efforts of calling attention to our environment would accomplish little.

In addition, a global university could instead act as just likely " Red Cross" to call our world attention to the world's most persist social problems. Although most people in the world have been far away from hunger for a long time, however, in developing countries, especially in underdeveloped ones, a large number of people still suffer from hunger. I concede that it should mostly attribute to the responsibilities of the government and the economy of the country itself, nevertheless, we have to kindly and generously help them solve these problems,to which the organization of a global university could call our world attention.  With the dissemination of the organizations or clubs in the global university, the most persist social problems could to some extent get solved by the government of countries, charities, or sponsors from the world.

In sum, while a global university may play a pivotal role in solving the most tough problems of academic research and motivate the communication of people from all over the world, which could to some extent lead to the progress of the world's peace, however, it can not solve the world's most persist social problems, such as environmental pollution and hungers, though a global university could call our world attention to them.
