TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

It has been debated for a long time about what is truly effective education. while ideally I am disposed to agree with the author that truely effective education should meet every single student's specific interest, two practical and feasible considerations keep me from this point of view.

I concede that education should satisfy the interests of each student as possible as it can for the reason that interest is one of the most important factors effecting students’learning. It has been a long time since scientists told us that each individual tends to focus much longer on what they are interested. If taught what they are enthusiastic about, the students will easily get involved in their study, and do something extraordinary. History has witnessed a host of great individuals who excel in their respective fields simply because they were engaged in what they liked. Such as great scientist Einstein, great pianis Chopin and so on.

However, when considering feasibility and practicality, it is impossible for the educators to meet each student's particular interest. From the student angle, it is unfortunate but Unmistakable that not all of the students know what they are really interested and what is suitable for them. After all, the giants who showed grear zeal for their career are only the minority of human beings. This embarrassing situation makes educators realize that, without correctly instruction and appropriate assistence, most of the students will not find the most interesting field in the course of their study. For example, they may blindly abandon themselves in some kind of unreasonable addictions, such as, playing video games day and night, or surfering a lot on the internet but noticing nothing else. These so-called interest not only brings nothing meanful to the students but may sacrifice the most valuable learning time in their life.

From the educational resources angle, equally, it is difficult for the educators to meet each one’s need. For the resources and money assigned to education is limited, the education officers should consider how to employ such limited resources so as to benefit as many students as possible. For example, if only a tiny part of students interest in astrology, yet a large number of students pay attention to economics, the education officers will not heasitate one second to take the later's choice into consideration. If necessary, the education officers should give up cultivating minor students' enthusiasm in a specific field even though they have shown great potential talent in this field, and make the best use of limited resources to the majority of students. Instead, those extraordinary students may develop their ability with the help of their parents.

In conclusion, given the inherent weakness of most students and the limited resources for education, we have to admit that designing education to meet the individual needs and interests of each student is actually idealized rather than truly effective.

看的文章不多,还有点不知道怎么入手,感觉写的不太好,有点肤浅,希望大家指教,非常感谢
