Issue4
"No field of study can advance significantly unless outsiders bring their knowledge and experience to that field of study."

1.科学交叉很可以促进学科发展
2.要想对一学科做出贡献,还是先要学好这门学科而不是其他学科
3.其他学科可能会影响本来的学科

Should one field of study advance significantly basing on outsiders, as the author allege? The author claim so, for the reason that different field of study can bring their knowledge and experience. In a sense, I tend to concede that isolation results in stagnation. However, I do not completely side with this statement because the author claims the view by overlooking the crucial rule of another issue and unfairly give them a second priority. In my point of view, a field of study also can advance significantly by themselves. An all-side consideration is needed when deciding the precedence.

First of all, it is always necessary for some different fields to work together for the purpose of advancing a certain study’s development. As interconnected fields experience mutual growth and prosperity, modern studies require further collaboration for continued progress and success. One simple example will serve to illustrate this point as fellow. Without supporting advances in calculus, the field of economics would never have seen the booming growth of its last 20 years. Mathematics helped convert economics from a qualitative, speculative to a quantitative, definitive one.

Nevertheless, if one wants to make great contributions to a certain field, the first and most important thing is to master all its foundational knowledge but not the knowledge of another field. To illustrate this point clearly, we can see Leonardo da Vinci. He was an Italian Renaissance architect, musician, anatomist, inventor, engineer, sculptor, geometer, and painter. Though he always abandoned his study of another field, but he applied one's mind to painting. So people who live after he almost just know that Leonardo is famous for his masterly paintings, such as the Last Supper and Mona Lisa because. Thus, if a person wants to success in one field, he or she should be absorbed in the foundational knowledge of this field firstly.

In addition, absorbing other fields’ knowledge mean obtaining potential effect for a certain field’s research. Sometimes people overstate the function of other fields’ knowledge and experiences. After all, outsiders distract researchers’ attention from their own fields. Even in some cases, the theory or practice of other fields will severely affect the original study’s normal research. People always waste too much time on other fields which are independent of research because they do not know which field is helpful for their research.

To sum up, I fundamentally disagree with the author’s conclusion that the success of one field must depend on other fields. In fact, outsiders are also bringing disadvantage.

观点清晰,例子也不错。

Should one field of study advance significantly basing(没有这种说法, based) on outsiders, as the author allege(allerges)? The author claim(claims) so, for the reason that different field(fields) of study can bring their(them) knowledge and experience. In a(this) sense, I tend to concede that isolation results in stagnation(这句话稍微扩充一下). However, I do not completely side with this statement because the author claims the view by overlooking the crucial rule of another issue and unfairly give them a second priority. In my point of view, a field of study also can advance significantly by themselves. An all-side consideration is needed when deciding the precedence.(开头结构还是很好的,但是要注意人称的变化,这种错误太多的话是会影响成绩的)

First of all, it is always necessary for some different fields to work together for the purpose of advancing a certain study’s development. As interconnected fields experience mutual growth and prosperity, modern studies require further collaboration for continued progress and success. One simple example will serve to illustrate this point as fellow
followed. Without supporting advances in calculus, the field of economics would never have seen the booming growth of its last 20 years. Mathematics helped convert economics from a qualitative, speculative to a quantitative, definitive one.(这个例子非常新颖,但是微积分好像早就成型了,可以适当的修改下)

Nevertheless, if one wants to make great contributions to a certain field, the first and most important thing
(不要用这种太抽象的词,具体一点,比如说是task等等) is to master all its foundational knowledge but not(个人感觉换成rather than, other than比较好一点,最好查一下^^ the knowledge of another field. Thus, if a person wants to success in one field, he or she should be absorbed in the foundational knowledge of this field firstly.(例子仍然非常出色,但是我想问一下,你这里好像没有说清楚达芬奇的所学孰先孰后的问题,会让读者比较费解,还是再说的清楚一点)

In addition, absorbing other fields’ knowledge mean obtaining potential effect for a certain field’s research.
(第一局最好就说明缺点,不要用potential effect这种词,搞不清楚的)Sometimes people overstate the function of other fields’ knowledge and experiences. After all, outsiders distract researchers’ attention from their own fields. Even in some cases, the theory or practice of other fields will severely affect the original study’s normal research. People always waste too much time on other fields which are independent of research(前面要不要加个代词?) because they do not know which field is helpful for their research.

To sum up, I fundamentally disagree with the author’s conclusion that the success of one field must depend on other fields. In fact, outsiders are also bringing disadvantage.
