Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People can learn more from watching television than reading books.

People can access knowledge through various ways, such as watching television, reading books, and so on. Some people prefer to watch television, because they think they can learn more through television program. However, I do not agree with this opinion. I believe we can learn more from books, rather than the television.

I do not deny the truth that television program also is a good channel to gain the knowledge. People can learn the history events through watching some historical documentaries. Besides that, some English movie can help us to improve our English abilities. Although the television program gives us many opportunities to learn the knowledge, we still could not learn as much knowledge as in the books. More often, people watch television not for learning, but for fun. As a result, there are more than ninety percents of program were produced for entertainment. People waste lots of time on them, but learn nothing from them.

On the other hand, books are indispensable for learning. We should pay attention to such a truth; everybody began to learn from books when he/she began to study at school. Students spent lots of time at school, most of which was spent on reading. Our ancestor had built a complete knowledge system, which could be learned from reading the science books; therefore, most of the basic knowledge we get were from the books.

Furthermore, some new scientific discoveries and advanced technology often first printed in the form of book. When we want keep a pace with the development of science and technology, reading the new science journals and books often is the best choice. Especially for the people who study on the new technology, it is impossible for them to get the complete and accurate knowledge from the television, because there are more commercial driven behind the television, which make the program could not serve for development of the science and technology, but for the entertainment and commercial demand.  

In conclusion, if you want learn more knowledge, reading book is more preferable than watching television. It will save you much time, as well as making you gain more basic knowledge and advanced knowledge.

文字越来越流畅了.我觉得你文章body部分其实有用了一个经典结构,先让步,再阐述自己的观点,之前我也看到别的文章用过,我很不喜欢, 为了套模板,文章就显得很生硬. 但是你的文章一气呵成,和模板融为一体.

不过有一点我觉得挺遗憾的, 之前一直很欣赏你文章的论证部分, 有理有据.可是这次的文章似乎在论据上欠缺了点,有点空.:rolleyes:
