People always do things while they don’t realize that their behaviors reveal their minds. This is called subconsciousness, which exists without being noticed. The speaker holds a similar kind of such opinions and arrives at the conclusion that we can obverse people’s appearance and behaviors to tell about a society’s attitudes and values. I partly agree with his or her.

Different from the old society which advocated conformity, the world we live calls for the character of individual. People use the way they look, dress and act to show them distinctive and their ideas. Surely, those can tell us about a person’s mind and attitude. For example, when a person is looking around while he is talking with others and his eyes cannot keep fixing on one place, his behavior usually shows that he is not sure about what he says and may tell lies. The same is true of the appearance. Men in casual are bound by less things and advocate freedom.

However, the way people look, dress and act do not reveal their attitudes and interests all the time. Robson Walton, the president of Wal-Mart, uses an old second-hand car and live a common even frugality life. He is a billionaire, however, whose appearance could not tell about his status and wealth. The rich may not lead a luxury life while the poor may not lead an economical life. Another example, it is more likely for a canting hypocrite to dress in suits of superior quality and act as a gentleman of moral integrity. Further, people may conceal their real minds and act what they want to show others, which is not reliable enough.

Additionally, besides the way people look, dress and act, there are still other factors, such as the traditional sense, history knowledge and political education. When it comes to the festivals in China, it is more likely for Chinese to celebrate the western festivals. However, it doesn’t mean that Chinese become to pay less attention to their traditional festivals. They just celebrate the western ones for fun and so-called fashion trend rather than their mental acceptance of the deep sprit of the western culture. So does the “V” gesture. The youth in Asian countries prefer to show “V” gesture which they are being taken photos. It is just a gesture to make the photos alive rather than a gesture which means victory and peace. In a word, people accept a way of living and something which may involve other cultures’ background not for its culture meanings but the surface layer. Also, the factors which reveal people’s attitude and interest are more than the way people look, dress and act.

Nevertheless, even if the speaker’s opinion is convincing and reasonable, can he or she, as an observer, absolutely decode the way people look, dress and act, as well as get exact information about their attitude and value? Different people with different culture background will easily misunderstand each other for the same thing which contains distinctive meanings. For instance, the opposite “V” gesture is more likely to be a symbol of shame in Britain while in Korea it becomes to a gesture full of encouragements. How can a person in one nation exactly tell its real meaning? Furthermore, different people have distinctive ideas about the same behavior and character. In some countries they always advocate the persons who prefer to show great initiative while in China that kind of people are not be advocated by the public. Instead, modest people are most popular in China for they advocate “the mean” which is called zhongyong in Chinese.

As long as those mentioned above, though the way people look, dress and act can reveal their attitudes and values, yet other factors are still existed and play a roll of more importance even. We should consider one thing all-around to avoid unfair results.

另外，似乎你的例子很多，但是缺乏一个概括性的话语把这些例子与题目联系起来，所以感觉比较散
