Nowadays, professor do a relevant job outside school is not rear in the society, and they make more profits and benefits than they only work for the college or university. The speaker claims that all faculties need to go out with a relevant practice which is the best way to improve the quality of academic. I don’t agree with the speaker who has neglected that there are also many realms need not to be practiced. In my opinion, not all professors from all subjects need to spend time on outside working for academic goals.

It actually involves two distinct issues by the reason of that different areas need different methods for them to study. Many realms need working experiences to examine the fruits of reach or to improve the education process more efficiently, but others not. The character of the subject determines the study method which service to the ultimate goal of the professor. If there is a utility program, specialist need more experiences to guide their study; If there is a theory based area, more written work will be more helpful with the thesis.  

In the many realms working outside does more good than harm such as technology, medical, agriculture, architecture, engineering, etc. On one hand, the additional practice after school education can spur much professional inspiration, which direct the tendency of the whole research process. In the 20th s century, many innovations came from the scientist’s sensitive of demands of the public. One the other hand, the cooperation between manufacture and college or university is make the products more competitive than the ones only developed by manufacture. During last ten years, the mobile phone has developed as a tremendous speed. Most technique developer choose to cooperate with specialists from high school. Companies can investigate the market very well and the academic authority can assure the quality of the products.

In other realms relevant outside working experience may be a waste of money, time, energy, etc. First, in some cases, professors need to research by themselves quietly. In some area of art, for example, many famous painters’ ideas during their work can be understand by only a few people, which is the charming of these artists and creations. Whose merit is original and singular . If he communicate with others easily and practice more, his work may be less attractive. Secondly, many area need massive time to research in the laboratory, library, or other places in the school, such as statistics. People have to deal with data only, and then make up modes of them which have little relationship with practice.

In sum, the statement about whether all faculties of colleges and universities should have the experiences of working outside in their relevant research areas is opening to discuss. There is no definite answer to this question, it must be analyzed with different situation of each subject. We cannot require all faculty of college and university work outside.
