小弟先行谢过～～～l TOPIC： It is better for children to grow up inthe countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree?
Recentyears have witnessed a increasingly tendency that families are moving fromcities to countryside to raise their children. Then is it really better forchildren to grow up in countryside than in the big city? Some people do notthink so due to the better welfares and working opportunities in themetropolis. However, as for me, the countryside take the advantages in thefollowing aspects—better environment, better neighborhood relations, and bettersecurity, which made it an better place for children to grow up.

Firstof all, the most important advantage for children living in the countryside isthat they are free of pollutions such as noise, large amount of air-excretesand etc. According to the statistics from a report by the World HealthOrganization (WHO), the percentage of children affected by various pollution inbig city(2%) is much larger than that in countryside(0.1%). And what’s more,the noise pollution is doing a great harm to those growing children as it wouldcontribute to diseases like declination of earshot, anxiety and so on. Forparents, it may not be that important to have their children get in touch withthose latest stuffs such as new movies, new CD players or others; it would beextremely of great importance to see their children growing up healthy. Interms of this aspect, rural area seems to be a good place for them to choose.

Furthermore,it would be good for the children to grow up in a place that everyone arefriendly to each other, and even know each other, for the reason that childrenhave so many people to talk with and would learn more from different people anddifferent experiences—which are good for them to shape a better characteristic. And the countryside is exactly this kindof place. People are familiar with each other and parties are held in nearly everyholiday. Children living in these places would be easy and friendly communicatingwith others. While large amount of children in metropolis would choose to stayat home watching TV rather than chatting with a neighbor of their funnystories.

Finally,better security situation would also be an great factor for parents to choosethe countryside. It is universally acknowledged that big cities are notoriousfor years of their high crime percentage. Just imagine, what would it be ifparents would be worrying about their children’s security every time when theygo out and play? Nightmare. In contrast, in the countryside, children wouldface less risk in this aspects.

Consequently,it is undeniable that the big city has some merits for children to grow such asthey would be able to get in touch with the latest stuffs. Yet compared withthe more aspects of life, countryside takes more advantages. That means,children in these area would likely to be healthier, happier and safer.
