The speaker claims that all nations should help support the development of a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems. I tend to agree with this claim. However, it contains certain risks that all participating nations must be careful to minimize.

With the development of transportation and telecommunications, we live in a global village. More and more problems are needed to be dismissed by the efforts of people all around the world. Such as the worldwide reject of nuclear weapons, even if few countries are developing nuclear weapons, we are glad to see North Korea' compromise to keep the peace of our world. It owns to the efforts of many nations, such as America, China, North Korea and so on.

Or consider the environment problems such as the global warming of environment. Since solving this issue requires the awareness of all the nations, we have get together to think out an approach to this urgent issue which has threatened our lives and animals. Fortunately, nations have make efforts to give us a better environment. The fact that more and more agreements are signed by many nations to improve global warming has demonstrated nations' determinations to solve this problem: global warming.

Moreover, nations are depending on others more closely than ever. When the stock of America declines, we can see so many countries' stocks decline as well. Furthermore, when the price of raw oil increases significantly, the price of raw oil of a lot of nations also increase at once. And the anti-criticism needs all of nations to make a contribution.

However, even if obvious benefits are so appealing, there are certain risks the nations that all participating nations must strike to minimize. Common sense tells us that a nation would like to solve its social problems firstly. Even if that it is not the case, we can also forecast that different cultures have different definitions of the most urgent social problem due to their different backgrounds, it is likely to emerge disagreements. Even assuming this would not happen, we may find that different cultures also have different approaches to solve a social problem. Thus, different problems have to be solved in terms of different culture backgrounds they are in.

In conclusion, since benefits overweigh the shortcomings. I agree with the speaker's claim that all nations should help support the development of a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems. However, there are certain risks the nations that all participating nations must strike to minimize.
