Is it more important for a teacher to help students gain self-confidence than to teach specific knowledge? 2007.3.10教育类

Comparing to teaching specific knowledge, it is more important for a teacher to help students gain self-confidence. For one thing, having confidence stimulates gaining knowledge. For another thing, building confidence will benefit students after graduation.

First, having confidence helps students learn specific knowledge more effectively. For example, in today's English class, students are encouraged to talk free their opinions on given events in English. In the talking, some mistakes may appear. However, unlike the teaching method prevailing 20 years ago, today's teachers do not always correct mistakes explicitly and criticize students for commiting grammatical errors, but rather usually give praise to students for their presentation. The method focuses on building students' confidence and encouraging them to talk. The result of changing method is apparent: 20 years ago, most students were good at spelling, grammar, but few dared to communicate freely, while today's students are confident enough to convey their opinions in English. Not only confidence influences learning of English, it also influences study of other subjects. Scientific research on learning style shows confident and extrovert students are more likely to grasp and take in knowledge, in other words, their learning process is more efficient.

Moreover, having confidence helps students perform better in future. Knowledge changes, while personal qualities like confidence, diligence do not easily changes. We are living in an age with information explosion. Knowledge is updated with an amasing speed. So specific knowlege learned in school may be outmoded when students step into society. Therefore, it is inevitable that we have to learn new knowledge without few guidance from teachers. We have to rely on our qualities, which are formed in school study, like confidence, diligence and determination to acquire needed knowledge.

Therefore, in order to have better teaching result and , teachers should give more attention to foster students' self-confidence than teach specific knowledge.

还有点时间,看看你的作文啦~~
Comparing to teaching specific knowledge, it is more important for a teacher to help students gain self-confidence. For one thing, having confidence stimulates gaining knowledge. For another thing, building confidence will benefit students after graduation.文章开头很新颖啊,直接切入主题句!lz想表达的分论点和我很相似啊~你说的比我要有条理!;d:

The result of changing method is apparent: 20 years ago, most students were good at spelling, grammar, but few dared to要be dared to的形式吧?查下跟帖回复哦 communicate freely, while today's students are confident enough to convey their opinions in English. Not only confidence语序换一下confidence not only influences learning of English, it also(but also) influences study of other subjects. Scientific research on learning style shows confident and extrovert students are more likely to grasp and take in knowledge, 这句话有语法问题,出现了两个谓语show 和 are。in other words, their learning process is more efficient. 和开头句重复了,可以改成they have learned much more knowledge during the same period of time as before.

Moreover, having confidence helps students perform better in future. Knowledge changes, while personal qualities like confidence, diligence do not easily changes. We are living in an age with information explosion. Knowledge is updated with(at) an amasing speed. So specific knowlege learned in school may be outmoded when students step into society. Therefore换到后面去好些, it is inevitable that we have to learn new knowledge without few guidance from teachers.  ThereforeWe have to rely on our qualities, which are formed in school study, like confidence, diligence and determination to acquire needed knowledge.

Therefore, in order to have better teaching result and , teachers should give more attention to foster students' self-confidence than teach specific knowledge.
