Culture reflects the history of a country, envelopes the intelligence of human beings, includes the origins of the art. In this way, the culture is the best way to get familiar with a country; therefore, I support the opinion that the university should let students learn at least one course of culture of a country instead of their own. Though there must be some people hold the opposite thoughts, I will list reasons to convince them.
First, from the culture people will know the history of a country. For instance, the 4th Thursday of November is Thanksgiving Day, at that day all people will come back and gather with their families and thank each other, their colleagues, Gods, and so on. It originates from the time when the believers flee from England. When they step into this land they suffered from hungry and cold, the original natives provide them food and some other necessaries which help them survived. Therefore the festival persists till now. Knowing this culture helps you know better of a country's history.
Second, knowing a country's culture will give people a hand when one makes friends with people coming from the country. They will surprise that the one who knows their country's culture so well. In this way, they have more topics with that guy. From this that person will also know the original of their actions, how they will do next and what their reactions would be when facing up to something. It will also help people know what this country's people like and dislike, so when people show them around our country, they will take them to proper places which avoid of unhappiness.
Take into account of all these factors, I can safely draw a conclusion that, learning at least one course of culture of a country is significant for students in university. Learning our own country's culture is necessary, but learning others' is for communication and cooperation and for the better future.
