With the development of computer technology and xerox, combined with the improvement of linguistics make the speaking skills be more and more fundamental and important in various aspects of life and also decrease the function of writing. This phenomenon gives rise to a hot debate over whether to speak well is important than to write well. Divergent people have divergent opinions on this issue due to their distinct background and experiences. As far as I concern, I agree that speaking plays a much more important role than writing.

First and Foremost, speaking is more direct. A person to person aspect is necessary while communicating by speaking. With the help of words, which can convey information, body languages, expression of emotion and face, a direct and clearer comprehension of the speaker can be readily available to us. On the other hand, without a personal interaction, misunderstandings might be raised. My personal experience can shed some light on this point. I sent a text message to one of my friend, however, he replied me in angry. While being tramped by this embarrassment, only a call figured out it. Through a calm conversation, we found that he missed one word in the message, while the meaning was reversed. Moreover, blunder can be achieved by the carelessness of the writer or the reader. While paying a lot of time and efforts to eliminate this problem, why do not just communicate in a much more personal(这个词想了好久都不知道怎么用) method to prevent this issue?

In addition, speaking is so popular indispensable that used by every aspects. In our usual interaction, speaking seems to be the only medium. In official field, numerous clerks and managers communicate by speaking, for example the meeting and interview. Even such a great number of talents are so, not to mention those illiteracies, speaking is their indispensable and only medium for communicating. Obviously, as a member of a multicultural world, we have to interact with various individuals, while speaking is the only method that can guarantee an accurate, direct and comprehensive understanding of the others.

Admittedly, writing also has some outstanding merits. We have to accept its peerless and irreplaceable role in preserving documents. However, when combining their merits and demerits together, the advantage of speaking is prevailed by a comprehensive and careful comparison.

To sum up, according to the point that I stated above, we can safely come to the conclusion that speaking, by serving us as a direct and indispensable role in communicating, is much more important than writing.
