When referring to the effect the grades marks on the development of a student, there are a lot of different voices from various people. Some people hold the opinion that grades mark usually play a positive role to encourage students to study harder, meanwhile others hold the opposite consideration. However, as far as I am concerned, grades mark was stimulation for almost every student to improve their study in any courses they learn.
The chief reason for my preference to the grades mark is that it is beneficial for us to point out exactly where our weakness exists. Figuratively speaking, a test or examination is just like a mirror in which we can obviously find out what ourselves are like. To illustrate this point, here is my real experience which is relatively persuasive/前几天看了别人的文章,有个词组shed some light on it用在这貌似很合适. In the first English exam, I got a quite terrible score. On my paper, every question I had answered wrong was marked by a big red "cross". In the grammar section, I did even worse. Nevertheless, those mistakes definitely helped me figure out my weakness. What is more, they also helped me concentrate all my attention on the explanation given by my teacher. As a result, I did not make any similar errors in my later exams which truly enhance both my grades mark and study.
Another reason why I agree with this idea is that low marks are generally regarded as stimulation for students to study harder than before. As it is know to all of us, our society is filled with any/numerous kinds of competitions. No one can deny the fact that there would be an/no activity excluding competition, not to mention study among the students. Only by comparing with our classmates can we both feel discontent to our achievements and scores, and pursuit a better marks. For example, I got 95 in my math test when I was a freshman in my university, I felt so satisfactory about it. However, when I was told that three of my classmates got higher marks, all my sense of elation soon gone away which encouraged me to study harder.
Although, no one can imprudently claim score must be positive to every student, because low score can frustrate the confidence of a student, especially for that of introverted students, however, we can avoid such problems by our teachers' correct encouragement. For example, one of my friends usually cried after got low scores, and she did not feel like communicating with any other students for a long period of time. Fortunately, our head teacher found out her problem in time and stimulated her to do well in the next test, which gradually adjusted her psyche/feeling.
In sum, grade mark is double-edged sword. Although score has some negative effects on small group of students, it helps most students to find out their weakness and encourage them to performance better. What's more, the influence of the negative aspect can be reduced or even can be removed/avoid by a good conduction by teachers.
