各位好，我现在正在申请当中，研究生院让我与international students and scholars offices(ISSO)联系，以下是校方给我的回信，请大家帮忙看看是什么意思。是让我现在转身份还是将来必须转，如果我录取了，可不可以不转？我想自己付学费，有时间照顾家里，还是以h4身份读，行不行？我应该怎么回答他？急，谢谢！

In order to attend aaaa State University as a full time graduate student (minimum of 9 hours per semester/6 hours with an assistantship) you will need to change your visa from H4 to F1.  The ISSO will provide you with additional financial Guarantee documents and other forms necessary to complete before enrolling at aaaa.  Where did you complete your undergraduate work?

怎么这么奇怪？难道H4也要转身份才能full-time读书了？或者说是学校想给你奖学金所以要你转身份？按理说现在H4是可以读书的啊？？？

在CA，H4可以读书，但是不能拿钱，要拿钱就得转身份。但有可能不同学校的政策不一样。也有可能学校想给你钱。
你最好直接写信给人家，问一问--“ I had thought that persons who hold H4 visa stamp can study directly at the university as a full time graduate student. However, your letter mentioned that I should change my status from H4 to F1 to attend your university. Could you please tell me if it is neccesary for me to change status ?" （这只是大意，具体还得你自已来。）
