Assignment:
Do we value only what we struggle for? Plan your response, and then write an essay to explain your views on this issue. Be sure to support your position with specific points and examples. (You may use personal examples or examples from your reading, observations, or, knowledge of subjects such as history, literature, science.)

4 l9 i& n- g3 O% y2 \3 yIn life, we encounter lots of things of varying importance. Everyone has dreams to pursuit and goals in life. People want to earn big bucks, lead a happy life, and have many more achievements to make. We struggle in life for things that are important to us. Making full effort to get hold of objects that we hold dear to. Thus, I strongly agree that only those things that we have feeling for will then only make us struggle, to achieve what we want.

. {: j2 h- M# _* v) h# ?8 _3 u* UThings in life go and come in rapid frequencies. We miss the right opportunities most of the time, as success is not possible all the time. The things that we encounter in life are all in constant, random motion. Some things go fast wile some plugue us like a chronic disease. Some may leave and appear again while others do not. The things that we really value are the crystal balls in our life, things that shatter and be lost forever if not handled with care. Examples of such crystal balls are our health, friends, family and morals. These are the things that everyone should hold dear to, but such basic essence come too easily, so many take them for granted, only making salvaging effort to retrieve them when they are on the brink of breaking. These basic essences perfectly comes along with most of us as we are born and growing up. Thus, many neglect such fragile things, merely knowing subconsciously that these are important.

The basic things in our life proves clearly that we esteem the basic structures of our life too lightly, which is built all too easily, only those who have been through turmoils in life, we truly value life having different insight about life. Such people are only of the minority, such as those disabled from the day they are born, conjoined twins who lived to be seperated, would really treasure their life.

This principle also applies to the different disciplines of study and business when a scientist struggled in experiments to finally come up with a new discovery, the experience will only then be truly exhilarating, with the scientist holding dear to his hard earned discoveries. Only when businessman who started from scratch and went through storms in the business arena, will then be likely to value and manage his fortunes well. Only when artists put their heart and soul into their paintings, epic artworks will then be born. Negative example to prove this stand would be the case of fortune through lottery or gambling. Studies have shown that up to 70% of lottery winners squander away the winnings within a year or two.
