Do you think life is easier and more comfortable today rather than the days when your grandparents were children?（07.12.10）

Does our life is easier and more comfortable than our grandparents? There is no consensus among people. Some argue that life is more complex and boring than before. On the other side of the leaf, some people, including me, convinced that life is easier and more comfortable than before. My reasons will be presented as follows.

There are two fundamental arguments to support my claim; the first one has to go on the aspect of easier life. For one thing, there is no denying that we could communicate with others when we want, whatever where they are. Such as internet and airplanes could satisfies this need which is not available in grandparents’ time. For another, modern technical has highly improved the harvest, which let citizens easier get food than before. A survey conducted by International Agriculture Committee indicates that world harvest has enhance 2-3 percent per year by modern machine and chemical fertilizer.

In addition, why there are so many people enjoy modern life is that people's life is more comfortable than before. On one hand, it is universally acknowledged that modern water supply system and television net system are high booming citizens’ life quality. Nothing is more significant than citizens' comfortable life to a society. Besides, even on working time, we can not emphasize the contribution of modern machine too much. Such kinds of machines, like streamline, are essential lighten the intensity of workers, which made their career time more comfortable than before.

Nevertheless, an argument, also the one I find most compelling against my claim, is that some senior citizens indicates that links of individual are weaken ,and the air and water is not as fresh as their youth .Although I concede this point, in my observation, this problem could be solved by modern technology. On needs to look no more than developed countries to find ample evidences that this is the case. For instance, in French, retire people could chatting with their friends on line for free. Moreover, in US, the solar and wind energy has hold nearly more than 5 percents in all energy which is no pollution, in Holland, wind energy take up more than half energy source.

In sum, this issue is a complex one which requires subjective judgments. Thus, the days of our grandparents has  relax internship of peoples and low life style(慢生活节奏怎么说), but for more human needs, like convenient transportation and efficient communication even comfortable life style, are provided by nowadays technical. In the final analysis, the modern life is easier and more convenient than before.
