The ability to cooperate with other is an important point of a person. From the ancient time, our ancestors lived together as a group to fight against wild life and nature, because they know the ability will be greatly enhanced if we work together. Now, we also concern that cooperation is the main function of the society. Further more, in the era of rapid social and technological change leading to increasing life, we pay more attention to the ability to cooperate with other than in the past.
First, tougher task need the ability of cooperation. As the improvement of modern society, large amount of complicate task emerge in front of us, so we have to overcome them by cooperation. For example, there are many kinds of international project such as solving global warming problem, entering to the cosmic. In these projects, many scientists from different countries should cooperate tightly to solve thousands of problems which didn’t appear in the past. We can see that the heavier problem is, the more crucial of cooperation ability is.
Second, as the disciplines become more extensive and intensive, the emersion of cross-disciplines makes the cooperation ability more critical than before. In my institute, when working on the project about the impact to water resources of climate change, we cooperated with scientists on climate to finish it. In the past, we just collected some data about climate change, so it doesn’t matter whether to join climate scientists. But now we found that the climate change caused water resource change, in turn the change of water distribution also had a certain effect to climate. So you can’t solve the problem without cooperation. Even more, there is cooperation between three or four disciplines.
Third, the enhancement of cooperation ability improves the growth of efficiency, so it will be valued more heavily. Our works are divided into different kinds more exactly. A certain work, finished by only one worker in the past, is now done by several ones, so that the everyone can be specialized at his/her own part of work and the efficiency will be improved. In this situation, we should work with others well, or the whole work will fail. At this point, we can say the detailed dividing of work makes increasingly value of cooperation ability.
Consequently, due to the above analysis and reasons, cooperation ability is broadly and necessarily concerned. Realistically, the distance between any couple of persons is so short that we concern the whole world as an “earth village”. Therefore, one can’t live so alone that we don’t cooperate with others throughout one’s life. What should we do? Let’s learn the ability of cooperation, live together, work together, and go forward together.
