I’m Dr. Nicquet Blake the Assistant Dean for Graduate recruiting here at UTHSCSA. The registrar has asked me to respond to the following question which you posed…:
One more question: is the admission statue decided on the first come, first serve basis? I mean if i get all materials ready for you earlier, will i be notified about the final decision earlier?
The simple response is NO. all applications that are received on or before the priority deadline (January 15, 2009) will be treated as priority applications. Interviews for priority applications will be scheduled for February 2009.
Applications received after Jan 15 and as late as March 15 will also be reviewed by the admissions committee, but competitive applicants will be scheduled for interviews later and if selected, are often placed on an alternate list.
The graduate school at UTHSCSA is now requiring a foreign credential evaluation on all foreign transcripts. Your transcript should include two things: a listing of all courses in English; and a final Grade Point Average (4 point scale) for all courses taken (not just science courses)
If neither criteria are met, then a course-by course (or detailed) evaluation is required by an accredited credentialing service. If only criteria # 1 is met, then the general evaluation will be accepted which provides the cumulative GPA.
